I love baseball, but the longer this drags on, the less I care. These owners are playing a dangerous game with their stubbornness. I dunno how old most of you are, but this is reminding me too much of 1994...granted I was only 10 then, but the Yankees were going to win the World Series that year lol. The Yankees were still in the a long post season drought back then, which really made losing the post season tough, plus we all knew Mattingly was nearing the end, so he wasn't going to have too many more chances.

It would really hurt the sport if they don't play this year because of money. The NBA, NHL, and MLS have already made deals. The optics are just terrible. Right if we have a virus spike and it takes out the season that's one thing, but this is really becoming a money issue more than anything now.

Just prorate the salaries and play 80 games or so with an expanded playoffs. Done.

The NBA is doing it too by allowing 22 teams instead of the usual 16.

5:21pm: Two team executives, Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams and Brewers president of baseball ops David Stearns, expressed optimism Wednesday that the owners and players will hammer something out. Williams told Jim Day of Fox Sports Ohio that “both sides want to play,” interestingly adding that he believes an agreement’s “very close” (via C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic). Stearns said, “I firmly believe we are going to have baseball this season” (per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel).
