The only Kenny Rogers song I really knew before this was "The Gambler" “Just Drooped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” You “know” that one…The dude abides, right? Reuben James was from his “Second Career” of three, Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, back in the late 60’s - 70’s. Prior to that he was in KC and the Sunshine band in the early sixties. Rogers and Johnny Cash were among the first country acts to get my attention, though Rogers was more of a crossover star…

How about Johnny Cash at the end of his career singing Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails songs? The man just had a certain coolness about him.

Which is kind of a shame but at least they know him now.

I can hear him dancing. Not my favorite Bee Gees song.

Geez, at least mixed it up with some "Stayin' Alive" or "Night Fever".

Perfect song for when I go on my walks:
From Better Call Saul:
Those tunes would make me think I'm in a movie while I'm walking. The last couple of days going to work, I have been playing Tears for Fears - they are better than I remember. Lots of musicality. Last week, it was all Rolling Stones. Sympathy for the Devil is just a great driving song, along with Gimmie Shelter and Street Fighting Man.

Anything else you'd recommend from them?
I love Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter is one of my most played songs. Always reminds of the Scorsese movies.
Inger thinks the Rolling Stones are overrated.

My favorite is Jive Talkin': I have to admit this one of the best sappy songs ever written. That was high school "parking" music. Love that song. Lots of sweaty, sticky nights parked with a cheerleader in some remote rice field with nothing but moonlight and the light from the radio. During those times, the laws of physics were temporarily suspended, as the privacy of a truck seat seemed to expand into a Four Seasons' hotel room with all other living beings vanished from existence, and hours passed like minutes. Memorable times for a young boy discovering and rediscovering the singularly breath-taking female form - every single one unique and tantalizingly mesmerizing. The absolute magic of youth.
