I'm a huge fan of Johnny Cash. Thanks, inger. I’m a fan. Probably not a huge fan, but I bought his album that he recorded at Folsom Prison and enjoyed that. “A Boy Named Sue” was of course a trendy hit and even “What Is Truth” crossed over onto the rock stations in its time. I also realize that The Man in Black had a great influence with early rock and rollers. He had a fine career and I do admire the man and his work. Second on my Country / Crossover list is Kris Kristofferson, followed by Gordon Lightfoot. Those are the trinity for me, after that there’s Mac Davis and Charlie Daniels. The rest are a blur, but they do exist. My ex-wife was incredulous one day when I told her The Eagles had strong country influence and the hard rockin’ kids that listened to CCR had no idea how deep their songs were rooted in country music. I got laughed at in eighth grade when our class was almost evenly divided between country and rock music and I said I liked the country-rock sound. I was way ahead of the rest of them, let them laugh. It was the time for CCR, Glen Campbell, and innumerable acts that they didn’t realize were born from the same parents. Ray Charles was definitely the daddy, still is. I’m so glad he and Billy Joel performed together on “Baby Grand”. I’m sure Joel was honored to have the opportunity. So many country and rock stars owe Ray for his inspiration. I would be remiss if I didn’t include Jim Croce. I didn’t see him as country, nor rock. I include him as the pinnacle of my favorite folk performers. A singer for every man and women. A man of the people. One of a kind…

And she’s on the music thread. The least she could have done is sing to us. Maybe a strip. Is she the real “Errand” Kaybli’s been seeing?…
