O/T The Music Thread

Dearest Cleta,

While we at HeAmyHa appreciate you providing an opportunity to us, what we shall not tolerate is poorly worded and crafted communication.  First, you begin with a comma splice in the salutation and the omission of a needed comma at the end of the greeting.  Second, your very next sentence ends in preposition, you have quotation marks where they are not needed, and your subject verb agreement is categorically misaligned.  Thirdly, we are nonplussed as to the validity of the communication and wary that it actually is sourced from you - introduced as Cleta Revell - as the email is signed by someone named James.  

After much contemplation, I believe I speak for all my brethren that we simply cannot take your invitation seriously, and your clumsy, ungrammatical and unlettered prose promotes a feeling of distrust of your character and your competence.  Yet, we in this forum are a generous and heart-felt bunch, so we wish you well and good fortune in your future endeavors.  

Note:  Please avail yourself to the Harbrace College Handbook (12th edition) and a whimsical helpful guide entitled "Eats, Shoots, & Leaves" by Lynn Truss.  Vaya con Dios.  

I can’t believe Kaybli has allowed Cleta to live this long. I hope he’s all right…

What is it with Yankee fans who struggle to sleep?  I fell asleep last night around 3:00 AM, but since it's Saturday, I could sleep in without compromising work or mental health.  I forgot to take my Trazodone last night, come to think of it. 

It’s just something we’re good at. We’re good at it and doggone it, we like it!

I wonder if there is any correlation between the team’s record and our sleep volume/quality? If only Noetsi would analyze the numbers for us. Perhaps if we bunted more often we’d be more bored and therefore more likely to sleep?

I think this is Paul McCartney's valedictory ode to The Beatles.  With a little help from his friend Ringo.  Most of those shots of George and John that get worked in come from the "Hello Goodbye" video from 1967, in which Lennon (and to some extent McCartney) showed off some pretty respectable dance moves.  Toward the end there is a brief clip from the "Penny Lane" video from 1966, along with a fleeting glimpse of the boys going on stage at Shea Stadium in that same year.

Harrison was always the one who seemed most sentimentally attached to The Beatles.  Songs like "We Was Fab" and "All Those Years Ago."  In a few weeks it will be 22 years since his death.  And not long after that 43 years since Lennon was murdered.
