Inger, I explained Mensa requirements and intelligence tests years ago on Pinstriped Plus to you and Karl, who was incorrect. A 150 IQ is not required for acceptance to Mensa, as that is not how IQ data is standardized. Rather, Mensa accepts the top two percent scorers on an IQ measure, which could vary between 130 to 148 as a cutoff, test to test and group to group. Karl simply averred to have a 150 IQ and to be a card carrying member of MENSA. Since he did not comprehend the rules for membership, his declarations were dubious. Thanks for the reminder. MENSA membership was never an interest of mine, so I guess I didn’t retain that information. I couldn’t have taken Karl seriously if he had been given a Nobel Peace Prize. He was enjoyable from a comic perspective… Karl’s imagination for trades certainly caught our attention and stretched the very fabric of credulity. Somehow a Ramiro Pena, Mike Jerzembeck, Mike Dejean, and a roll of scotch tape could land Chipper Jones. Never a dull moment with Karl!

And Mateo. He was nothing… 🤓 He Amy ha on the music thread. I should write a song about that. It could be a country song, but I’d have to write something about motherhood. And a truck. None of that works with he Amy ha… Maybe if it had been he Amy hee-ha, but it wasn’t. Amy was a friend of mine But I wanted to play with her Amy hee-ha * at this point I’d need a strong fiddle to break in. The tune wouldn’t matter, does it ever. This may be moving toward rock and roll now. A little Chuck Berry and his ding a ling, right? It’s not naughty unless YOU make it naughty… But she didn’t want my ding a ling Anywhere near that thing… *A little banjo? Or should we go with some bass guitar and let the rock start to flow? Piano. Even? I think we need baseball… You can’t deny my talent for plagiarism…

Speaking of dirty, where’s Dome? Been a day or two? He needs to get back here and be productive. I need my parrot updates… How many seeds per gallon is gas on the Baja now? It’s hot $4.09 here today… my last tankful was $3.89, and was a nice $83.00 fill up. That will cover about 300 miles or so before it’s time again…

I filled up a week ago for $3.18 at Costco, when every other place was $3.39, but now I am starting to see $3.99 this week.

And Mateo. He was nothing… 🤓 There was once a poster who typed "hench" when he meant to say hence. To this day I still say hench just to be goofy and the person I'm talkin to has no idea what I'm saying. I think the poster was "moneywrecker" or something like that.

Long ago, my friend. But I noticed many years ago that they called Bob Hope funny for forty more years after his last effective joke. Why not me?…

Long ago, my friend. But I noticed many years ago that they called Bob Hope funny for forty more years after his last effective joke. Why not me?… Mark Twain had it down 150 years ago -- "Give a man a reputation as an early riser and he can sleep 'til noon." Although I thought Bob Hope was still pretty funny late in the game. Just the expression on his face had me laughing before he even said anything. Same with Jack Benny. Maybe more nostalgia on my part than actual humor on their part, I don't know.

Comedians often come on line with very little material. Like when Steve Martin first appeared I thought… how many times can an arrow through the head be funny? This guy won’t last… Ooops. I may have been wrong about that…

I may have been wrong about that… Steve Martin is a very talented guy. Early on he was TV writer for many variety shows like The Smother's Brothers, Pat Paulsen, Glen Campbell, Sonny and Cher etc. My wife and I liked his latest "Murders Only in the Building" on Hulu. Plays a mean banjo too.
