I see this team as "loaded" on paper, but with an unusually high fragility in their outfielders. It is frustrating because if all remained healthy, they look like the best team in the AL to me. If the past is any indicator, Gardner will be needed before this abbreviated season ends. I hope he gets back to the swing that has brought him and the Yankees the most success. Boone needs to get the hot hitters in the lineup. I will be disappointed if Frazier sits tomorrow after a 3 hit game. Tauchman seems like a decent CF in what I've seen. If Judge is good to go tomorrow, I might go with Judge, Tauchman, and Frazier from right to left. I saw an interview where Frazier said he had worked extra hard on his defense. Let's see it.

I think Frazier's defensive struggles last season can be attributed to his concussion problems. According to him he was having some depth perception issues due to the concussions. He was always fine as a fielder coming up in the minors. I think he should be okay going forward in the field.

I'm going with Hicks, because despite the low batting avg., Hicks still displays high on base skills (.414 OBP). Plus, he's a switch hitter and at this point in their careers, he's a better CF than Gardner. Yea I'd go
RF Judge CF Hicks LF Tauchman DH Frazier
pretty much everyday with Ford(at DH)/Gardner rotated in occasionally.
Ford is not easily dismissed vs. RHP. He knows how to turn on a pitch and make the pitchers work to get him out...

That ability and his power would seem to make him a likely DH starter on a number of other teams. Is there a chance the NL will now become accepting of the DH in normal seasons? If so, Ford's value in trade should be enhanced.

Ford’s swing would seem to lend him to bring what they call Yankee Stadium Swing. If another park is lefty pull hitter friendly then he could be very useful. I’d just as soon keep him...
