Excel SheetResults will be announced Jan 24th, but here is a compilation of all the public ballots so far. Courtesy of Ryan Thibodaux. This is going to be one large class if this holds up. Some current %'s: Chipper - 98% Vlad - 94% Thome - 94% Edgar 81% Hoffman - 79% ----- Mussina - 73% BB/RC - 67% Schilling - 66% 75% is needed to get in.

I think they all deserve election. While I've been a bit on the fence on Mussina, I'm fine with him and Schilling making it, too (if they do). What is BB/RC? Sorry if I'm thick...

Hoffman being ahead of Bonds, Mussina and Clemens is absurd but then again the HOF gets more irrelevant every year.

I don't have a huge problem with Hoffman being ahead of Mussina. They had completely different roles as pitchers, and we all know saves are over-valued like many of the older metrics. As far as being ahead of Bonds and Clemens, since it had more to do with their cheating than comparative performance, I can only think that they put themselves in that position. Imagine someone finding out that Babe Ruth used some kind of super elixir that was banned in his day...
Hoffman was at least remarkable in that he held on to the closer job from age 26 until age 41...Even after he began to slip at ages 39 and 40, and his life-long team the, Padres decided not to offer him a contract he was able to coax one more excellent season out of his body before age caught up to him at age 42 in Milwaukee. That was one other thing that I think Mariano did right. The GOAT knew exactly when to leave...We didn't have to watch him struggle...
I still say that the only Hall of Fame that matters to me is the one I keep track of in my mind. It's my memories and my knowledge and understanding of the sport the way I believe it should be that has value. We each, I'm sure have one in our mind. Some of us agree with 99% of who's actually in the HOF and find that meaningful. Some of us would remove certain players and add others, some would just remove some, some would add more...It's all subjective as far as I'm concerned...

Updated numbers before tomorrows announcement (based on 55% of ballots that have been revealed)
Chipper 98.3%
Vlad 94.9 %
Jim Thome 93.2%
Trevor Hoffman 78.3%
Edgar Martinez 76.9%
Mike Mussina 70.1 %
Bonds 64.1%
Clemens 64.1%
Schilling 59%
Everyone else on the ballot not listed above with the current amount of ballots revealed has no shot to get in as even if they were on every single private ballot, because their public numbers are too low to average out to 75% or more no matter what the private numbers are.
