The object is to get to the World Series. The mighty Yankees since the last time they were in the world Series have thrown away over 2 billion dollars. What has the wizard Brian Cashman gotten for that. Zero. He has wasted 2 billion dollars. Win or lose Tampa is in the World Series and once again the Yankees with the largest payroll are sitting home. It will not be easy for Tampa. They are going against another team with a large payroll. Unlike the Yankees they have been in three of the last four Series. They have one of the best organizations in baseball. They spend their money wisely. Sounds like good motto for the Rays.

To be serious for a moment. I would like to see that MLB have a minimum payroll that each team would have to meet. Maybe taking the total payroll for all teams each year divided by the number of teams and that would be the minimum payroll each team has to reach.

This doesn't say much for the Texas Rangers offense.

I believe a salary floor has been brought up in past negotiations between the owners and the player's union, however I think it was the union that was against that. Go figure, I think these guys sometimes are difficult just to be difficult. The next round of talks should be a treat.

How does Choi do this? I wouldn't be able to walk for a month if I tried this.

How does Choi do this? I wouldn't be able to walk for a month if I tried this. The discipline that one of my Korean friends used to show were amazing. I recall when I first discovered him hitting golf balls by himself. I asked him how long he had been playing. His reply was that he had never played and wanted to hit the ball well enough to not embarrass himself on the golf course before he tried. No lessons, he was doing it all by himself. I told him he was ready. We played many times. He was able to smack a 300 yard drive on occasion, and quickly was able to drop his score below 100. The point is, I would immediately credit Choi with a lot of hard work to keep his body flexible...

I also believe that to be too much roster control. They wouldn’t want to give random raises to make up the difference. They’d have to trade for more expensive players. Dizzying. Fahgetaboutit...
