Just curious, is Voit's defense worse than Torres'? They always substitute Wade for him but I was thinking why not substitute for Gleyber. He seems worse than Voit.

Just curious, is Voit's defense worse than Torres'? They always substitute Wade for him but I was thinking why not substitute for Gleyber. He seems worse than Voit. They substituted Wade as a pinch runner for Voit when he got on base last game. I wouldn't substitute Wade for Gleyber on defense. It'll mess with his confidence going forward. He's not a terrible fielder, just makes some boneheaded plays sometimes. He'll improve I think.

I think another reason for the substitution of Voit is that Luke is dealing with some kind of foot injury. There's been games where he's had a lot of trouble running at full strength.

Torres isn't a bad fielder... he doesn't screw up because he can't make the plays... his fuck ups are between the ears... for some reason, he takes plays off it seems. He's certainly athletic and we've seen him make some great plays... but he makes goofy decisions... real head scratchers... IDK why.. but it just seems like sometimes he's not paying attention or has low baseball IQ

Stanton came up big numerous times in the two games against the Indians. Here's to you big man! He'll probably still wind up on the suckers list on Monday... His two games don't fool me... he still SUCKS

Yeah, they did it last night as a pinch runner but I thought throughout the regular season they did this kind of often. They always move LeMehieu to first and put Wade at second. I always thought they should keep Voit and move Wade to SS. Also, I hated last night's decision to pinch run for Voit in the 7th. I thought it was too early. Of course it's easy to play Monday morning QB. The next batter could've hit a double and Voit would've been stranded at 3B but I still thought Boone shouldn't have done that. I get that whole confidence thing but they seemed to do it a lot with Andujar a couple of years ago. Watching the series I was wondering if we should sign Lindor when he hits FA. Our defense on the left side would be incredible. We could trade Torres. I do love Torres bat more though. Those takes against Bieber were amazing. Most batters would've swung on those curve balls. His plate discipline is amazing when he has 2 strikes.

As for Lindor, I would save the money and keep Gleyber as he's under our control until 2025. I like Lindor but with Gleyber, LeMahieu, Urshela, and Voit there really is no room for him right now. I agree with you that Gleyber had some phenomenal at bats these last two games. He was taking some really tough pitches to lay off on.

I like Torres two strike approach... I hate his defensive play.. Maybe he'll get better as he matures?
