I see Kratz was removed from the roster and replaced with Michael King. It was either King or Schmidt. Schidmt has more swing and miss stuff but King has more experience out of the bullpen. Hopefully, we only see him for mop up duty when we are ahead many runs.

Wow, here's some surprising news, Devi is starting game 2. Hmmmm. That is surprising. I wonder the rationale behind it? Is it because the Rays have hit lefties well so they push Happ back to game 4?

Wow, here's some surprising news, Devi is starting game 2. Deivi has arrived. Since he’s been with the team he’s been able to hang deep into games. I think that’s a huge factor in having him ride right behind Cole. No bullpen overuse early in the series. Save those bullets for when we see the whites of their fear-stricken eyes...

If you recall (pulling a muscle patting myself on the back), I advocated for this a couple weeks ago. Game three (Andy Pettitte time) is often the pressure-packed, do or die game that determines a series comeback or finish. This is the sort of game in which Tanaka thrives. My only hesitation is that Gary Sanchez will be calling and catching game two for the rookie. I much prefer Higgy behind the plate defensively and especially pitch calling. Gary has a tendency to overemphasize fastballs (easier to catch) and completely avoids calling for breaking balls in the dirt for a third strike and rarely calls for nasty breaking pitches with men in scoring position. Too predictable and forgets to change eye level prior to a call for a breaking pitch low in the zone.

Happ is supposedly tailor made for the Rays, who mash lefty fastballs, but Happ actually pitched well against them last season, giving up a total of only four earned runs in three starts across 15.3 innings pitched (5, 5.3, 5). He hasn’t faced Tampa this season.

I would ask those on this board smarter than me: How could that be rationalized? Help me here.
