lol at the Astros low balling Correa. Well, for all we know Correa may not have been able to learn the trash can code, or refused to wear a buzzer...

I love Frazier more than anyone but I would do that in a second. I don't know why the Reds would do that though with Castillo being cost controlled for a few more years.

www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/latest-on-yankees-free-agent-targets.htmlEven after reaching agreements with DJ LeMahieu and Corey Kluber, the Yankees are still hoping to round out the roster. New York is looking for pitching depth, hears Buster Olney of ESPN, with a “third-tier starter” or relief help most likely. Olney also adds that the Yankees would still like to bring back outfielder Brett Gardner, who has spent his entire career to date in pinstripes.

I'd like to have Castillo, but the Yanks need to find a way to make it work without Frazier being in the deal. They need Clint to be their everyday LF, plus they need OF/DH depth, because the likelihood of Judge and Stanton missing games. On the other end, if I was a Reds fan and they made this deal, I'd be wondering why Cincinnati even has a big league franchise. Trading Castillo would be a disgrace.

I’d do that deal in a New York minute! We still have no idea of what Andujar is, nor what he might become. Frazier could tear it up on Cincy. Castillo has some sexy numbers, is still nice and young to keep pitching well for another half dozen years.
We have plenty of bats. We need pitching. Don’t walk to get this deal done, RUN. Castillo has a +124 ERA. What’s to question? DO IT!...

SCOUTING REPORT / Luis Castillo
RHP.
Fast ball: Throws the 95-97 MPH offering slightly more than 1/2 of the time. While getting good velocity, his command is a bit iffy with the pitch and it can get hit hard.
Slider: More lateral movement than downward. Is thrown at about 85 MPH. Is used around 18% of the time and is only somewhat effective when used vs. LHH, but he will show it to them from time to time. It’s a very useful pitch vs. RHH, and gives them something to think about on pitch one, as well as with 2 strikes.
Change Up: This is the bread-winner offering, coming in at 87-88 MPH. He’s been throwing it a bit more each season as he has continued to improve on it. As recently as 2018, the pitch was leaking into the middle a bit and getting hammered on occasion. Now he’s hitting the strike zone with it vs. LHH less than ever, but he’s still getting swings out of zone. The pitch has decided tilt down and away from LHH.
Cutter: This pitch has been abandoned since 2018, and for the better.
He now not only fans 10/9 innings, but has improved his percentage of ground ball outs to 55%. His biggest fault still remains a high tendency to allow BB, but his maturity level has risen with the confidence in his change and fastball allowing him to be brave enough to throw them on the edges and get swings with misses or weak contact.
He’s probably gotten as good as he’s going to get at this point, but that’s good enough to be a long time #3-#4 for a contender, and perhaps to be better than that if he can improve his walk rate, which may be something he can do. If traded to NY, he’ll continue to be in an environment similar to Cincy, where fly balls spell trouble. He’s used to it, and his game suits it...

The Reds don't need OF's, Frazier wouldn't even be guaranteed a starting spot with the Reds. Offer them Schmidt, Andujar and a couple of good pitching prospects.

OK, I thought their guys were better than that. These guys suck and Frazier is better than all of them. The Yanks could make the trade with Frazier and sign Michael Brantley to play LF, he would also give them another left handed bat. They would need to either resign Gardner or use Tauchman for late inning defense because Brantley is a poor defender.
