Because the Padres don't have enough starting pitching. They add Joe Musgrave from the Pirates. LOL, Padres going nuts.

They might have enough for two rotations. Watch them finish in 3rd place. 😂

The Blue Jays grab a closer. That’s a decent gamble...

It appears the Jays are close to landing Springer.

It's a done deal with Springer. The Jays lineup is going to be tough.

8 million is a steal if he gets back to form.

8 million is a steal if he gets back to form. While I get what you’re saying, Quintana has never developed into what most expected of him. To me, he’s been a decent starter with some bursts of being very good. He’s never maintained excellence. He’s been able to tip toe around it, and has over-performed his skill set. $8M. Is that a steal in today’s market? Given his performance over the past 3 years or so, if that is what he rebounds to, and not the pitcher of six years ago, it’s not going to be all THAT great. So glad it wasn’t the Yanks that plucked him away from the White Sox...

I get what you are saying, but theres so many pitchers that don't pitch innings lately and most of his career he's been good at pitching large amounts of innings each year. So for 8 mil I think that's pretty valuable for most teams. I do agree getting him from the white sox would have been an overpay though.

Brantley signs with the Blue Jays too. He would have made for a nice DH with the Yanks if we weren't already bogged down with a huge contract at the position for a guy who never plays.
