Make your prediction for the top three players to lead the Yankees this season at the plate. I thought about using WAR, but that might exclude catchers who play fewer games due to the position. I considered using OPS, but that may favor a part-time player over an everyday player. So, I decided that the most judicious and fair measure for ranking top offensive prowess would be the following: I’ll decide... At the end of the season, the winner will receive an autographed picture of Rin Tin Tin wearing a sombrero. Second place will receive the same picture without the signature. Third place will receive the same picture without the signature or sombrero. Extra Bonus Win: after voting, please respond with a post indicating your top three choices in order...1, 2, 3. If you win the poll and also have the correct order, you’ll be awarded an additional photo of one of our posters naked, wearing a strategically placed sombrero. Should Inger win, he’ll receive an extra well done (Burnt) steak and a dry baked potato. * The author of this poll shall have full authority to withhold any and all prizes should he feel the ballot has been hacked, manipulated, or taken seriously.

I’m following the power and risking an unexpectedly healthy Stanton (and Judge, too). Those guys have to be healthy sometime, (right?), he said as he blocked Jake Ellsbury out of his memory...

Anyway, I'll have to go with:
1. Judge 2. DJ 3. Voit

Dang it! The title of the poll is required before writing the post. I didn’t think the methodology through until after the poll, while writing the explanation in the post.

1. Judge 2. LeMahieu 3. Frazier
I’m looking for a breakout year for Frazier, while betting on Judge to stay healthy.

I hope I'm wrong and Judge and Stanton stay healthy. Voit could win another HR title. D.J. is D.J. I think Torres will be closer to 2019 than 2020.
1. Voit 2. D.J. 3. Torres

Judge Stanton D.J. I'm thinking this is the year everyone stays healthy. Don't do it! Don't give me hope! Boone complains to the press that the team is too healthy. He’s having trouble getting everyone enough rest time. He’s thinking about sitting Judge down for the month of June, Stanton for the month of July. He’s asked DJ to convert to Jewish so he can sit on Saturdays, and Torres to become a 7th day Adventist...who, oh who will become a Pentacostal to insist on Sunday off to roll?

Not giving my rankings for fear i might win the prize. It’s a fresh new photo. I still have the Sombrero in front of me, but I’m not holding it with my hands...

I see that Tyler Wade got no votes, nor should he in a rational world. It got me cogitating over whether or not the Yankees have ever had such an offensively challenged player who lasted so long with the team.
The first time Wade trots out on the diamond he will be in his fifth season as a Yankee. His career OPS+ to this point is a gaudy 56. Just randomly looking up potential challengers, I was able to find only two "batsmen" who played at least five years for the Yanks with a lower number.
Actually the first played in the deadball era when they were still known as the Highlanders. That was catcher Walter Blair, who sported an OPS+ of 50 during the 1907-1911 campaigns. He must have been one helluva defensive stud.
The other, who some of you will remember, is late 60s-early 70s stalwart Frank Tepedino, who had a 52 OPS+ in five Yankee seasons. I know Frank shows up at Old Timers Day in front of increasingly unresponsive fans as his demographic moves on to that great stadium in the sky. The announcers usually make an issue of his career with the NYPD.
Others I thought might have been in the running-- Enrique Wilson, who like Wade had an OPS+ of 56 but only lasted four years with the Yankees; Luis Sojo came in at 62 over seven seasons; Clay Bellinger was barely ahead of Wade at 58, but he only had three years.
I went through various weak sticks like Miguel Cairo, Jake Gibbs and Mantle's late-inning legs Jack Reed, but each was far ahead of Wade.
Ross Moschitto only played two years in the mid-60s, but he deserves some recognition for putting up an OPS+ of 25.
This list is far from scientific, so feel free to add any pathetic bats you can.
