Yeah, love the stats Rizz. I knew Socrates "The Hemlock Kid" Brito had no chance, but I think his name alone gives him more opportunities than if his name were Joe Smith. I still believe his name is what gave Celerino Sanchez his shot with the Yankees all those years ago.
I assume Socrates took his demotion philosophically.

Looking over the statistics for Spring Training, a few stick out in my mind. Cole Slaw leads the Yankees in strikeouts with 24 in 18.1 innings, and Jay Happ’s doppelgänger, Lucas Luetge, is second with 18 in 10.1 innings. Jonathan Loaisiga yielded only 2 walks in 13.1 innings of relief. He struck out “only” 10, which both may indicate he is finally trusting his stuff to play in the strike zone. Cole also leads the Yankees in hits allowed with 15. Jordan Montgomery surrendered only 4 hits in 10 innings. Kyle “Chocolate” Barraclough struck out 11 in only 7.2 innings but gave up 10 walks. Tyler “tigers and bears” Lyons struck out 13 in 7.1 innings but was charged with 11 hits and 6 runs. Luis Cessa struck out 15 in 10.1 innings but allowed 13 hits and 10 runs! Nick “Admiral” Nelson was solid with only 1 run and 1 walk in 10 innings with 10 strikeouts. Gary Sanchez has 3 home runs but also 19 strikeouts in 43 at bats, which is a rate over 44%. Gleyber “Day” Torres leads the Yankees in hits with 12, homers with 5, and RBI with 9. He is also second in walks with 7 to Aaron “Cashman’s Guy” Hicks with 11 base on balls. Trey “Kaybli, Don’t Buy His Jersey Yet” Amburgey in only 10 at bats has 6 walks, but 0 hits. Rob Brantly led all catchers with 6 RBI in only 12 at bats. Thanks for the clutch reminder, Rizzuto! I had my own custom made Amburgey Jersey in my online shopping cart just ready to hit buy before reading your post!
Nice overview of the stats too!
You could have bought that Amburgey shirt, Kaybli. Come on! That’s what true fans do. The man drew six walks this spring, just for you! This would of course make this a wonderful shirt to go walking around the neighborhood in. Not only that, but you had bought it, Amburgey’s merchandise sales would have probably enjoyed a significant leap. As for me... I ain’t buying that bum’s shirt...

I like the old days when Steinbrenner wanted the Yankees to win ANY game they played, especially against rivals. Knowing Boone, though, he’ll get the starters two or three at bats, then lift them.

German Potato Salad strands two in the first. Still not scored upon this Spring. Umpire has squeezed a couple pitches early, though.
