Bad call hurts Luetge's ERA.

That damn call could cost Luetge his job.

Two garbage runs that never should have scored.

The play at first costs a shutout. Good strong throw by Gleyber, but he took too long to set that throw up. That’s what made it close. I think Mountcastle’s speed fooled Torres...

That was a bad call at first; however, Gleyber has to know who’s running. The Yankees rarely bust it down the first base line. They run 75% almost all the time (scared to pull a calf muscle or groin). Baltimore, Toronto, and Philadelphia and Detroit during Spring Training all stole multiple infield hits on grounders to shortstop. Yankees might need to make a decision on Gleyber if this keeps up. Way too many extra outs.

Right now the Yankee pitchers are already making extra pitchers and Luetge has a 13.50 ERA that should have been 4.50...

Some people (not me) used to complain about Jeter's play at SS, but he always had complete awareness of what was happening on the field. No way that play would have been close enough to review because Mountcastle would have been indisputably out. As it was, Gleyber's minuscule delay made it bang bang. And I don't blame the ump, that was a tough call, but I do blame the video guys for not getting it right. For a borderline major leaguer like Luetge, that play could hurt his chances of sticking. Otherwise it's three quick groundball outs. Of course the Yanks know this too. Torres so far has shown no sign of improvement at SS. It's frustrating.
