Plays like that are so exciting, we need more. Reminds me of watching Bernie score from first in Anaheim. I can still see him rounding third, knees pumping high, dirt flying behind him like a horse at Belmont. Bernie was a gazelle when he finally got going.

How do you have 2 runs when you have 12 hits.

That was some hustling by Tauchman. Great running by Tauchman, great early go sign from Nevin, and great telling him where to slide by Gardner. The Gardner part I didn't see until the replay. Loved that precision.

Twelve hits and two runs. When it come to RISP, we can’t hit ourselves in the butt with a bass fiddle.

While I agree with Cone that Sanchez might not have made it to second, that's a really bad look that happens way too often. I don't think it's changeable. It certainly wasn’t with Robinson Cano. No matter who talked to him. Cano was an MVP candidate who if he got injured doing something stupid, it would matter.... Sanchez, not so much.... his absence might help the team... Get a better game behind the plate w/o him at least...

No matter who talked to him. True, and like Sanchez, Cano is so gifted. There have always been guys like that. Old timers when I was a kid used to say that talented Yankee left fielder Bob Meusel would never do more than the absolute minimum.

Despite all the balls to the backstop, Chapman strikes out the side!

It certainly wasn’t with Robinson Cano. No matter who talked to him. Cano was an MVP candidate who if he got injured doing something stupid, it would matter.... Sanchez, not so much.... his absence might help the team... Get a better game behind the plate w/o him at least... It was a problem. Girardi talked to him, Jeter talked to him, Mariano talked to him, even Arod talked to him. He took his act to Seattle and wore out his welcome there. Busted for PEDs. Rivera said Cano never burned to win. Selfish guy with a kid he never sees and sends nickels to the mother. Good riddance. And, running hard to first and looking to take another base isn’t “something stupid.“. Cano turned too many doubles into singles.
