I didn't know the family stuff about Cano, and I'm sorry to hear it. He had the capacity to be the greatest second baseman in Yankee history. Glad Seattle took him off our hands.

Cano wanted out of New York. He was more than happy to cash his checks and not have to worry about the playoffs. He didn’t like the Yankees’ expectations, didn’t want to hit second in the order, didn’t like Girardi telling him not to jog to first, etc. The Yankees shipped Melky away to send a message to Cano. |
