Ryu throttled us the last time we faced him. Let’s hope the Yankees were inspired by Higashioka’s performance yesterday and wake up with some early runs. Frustrating being no hit the first time through the order so often. Line up:
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B 2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH 3. Aaron Judge (R) RF 4. Gary Sanchez (R) C 5. Aaron Hicks (S) CF 6. Rougned Odor (L) 2B 7. Gio Urshela (R) SS 8. Clint Frazier (R) LF 9. Jay Bruce (L) 1B

Frustrating being no hit the first time through the order so often. Line ups not yet posted. We’ve whipped Ryu’s fanny before. We can do it a again. He’s one of those guys that you have to nick early. Get him bleeding so he doesn’t last...

I hope Hicks is still too upset to play. And maybe Frazier needs to feel his job is in jeopardy. Judge, Tauchman and Gardner works for me, at least for tonight.

Third baseman playing shortstop; second baseman playing third; outfielder playing first; second baseman playing second. This should be interesting.

The team is worth billions, yet has to play men out of position.

The team is worth billions, yet has to play men out of position. We should rotate positions every inning... like volleyball...

Only Boone could find a way to turn a single injury into four on field problems...

Would the Yanks have gotten Stanton if they knew that three years in he could only DH? Maybe so, but I am sure it wasn't Plan A.

I suppose it's because we follow our own team so intently, but when Stanton was with Miami -- and I saw them a lot with the Phillies being the local entry here -- you would stop to watch his at bat with the expectation that you could see a moon shot. He was must-see TV. Now I have nagging doubts whenever he's up, and he is NOT the guy I most want to see in a big spot. I know it's mainly because I care more now about his performance. And nothing against him personally, he takes the criticism and booing in stride. Probably in Anaheim they dwell on Mike Trout's weak points, whatever they might be. Although neither Stanton nor anybody else is Mike Trout. Obviously.

Would the Yanks have gotten Stanton if they knew that three years in he could only DH? Maybe so, but I am sure it wasn't Plan A. When the Yankees obtained Stanton, many Marlins fans thought Judge would become a DH. Obviously, they had not seen much of Judge defensively. The point is that Marlins fans considered Stanton a solid outfielder. I often wonder how much healthier Stanton would be if he was not treated like a porcelain doll and actually exerted himself in game day situations. Some players benefit offensively from getting into the rhythm of the game, which includes playing a defensive position.
