That 98 squad was the best team I ever saw, I think they were 0-3 on that date.

It's not like the Rays are lighting on fire against anyone else: Marlins 2-1 Red Sox 0-3 Rangers 1-3 Yet godly against the Yankees. I think the Rays are in the Yankees heads this is pathetic. Side note: I still think the #42 thing is confusing as hell. Why does everyone have to wear 42? There's better ways to honor Jackie Robinson. I came in after the game started and was unaware. The first of what seemed to be fifty pop flies hit between Yankee outfielders was very confusing...

I called my brother in the 7th inning and left the game playing. I saw the thrilling HR that broke up the shutout... I feel like it’s 1965 all over again at this point. Like the whole team got old and slow over the winter... Let’s hope that’s not true, but every winter it seems we make a move or two, but the job is undone. Then every spring we look like the walking wounded. It’s getting old. Damn. No refunds on the MLB package. I have buyer’s remorse already...

So, any more wrestling memories for you guys? Mr. Fuji? Bobby "The Brain" Heenan? Pedro Morales? I think this one is just a great memory. Are you ready for it? “Baron” Mikhail Scicluna... How’s that one? Also not wanting to forget The Fabulous Moohlah. I think she was the only female on the WWF roster and they had to hire one whenever they wanted to give Moohlah some exercise. To me MOO-lah seemed appropriate. The fabulous, not so much...

In yesterday’s thread I mentioned a wrestler called “The Golden Terror”. No one reacted to that name, and it’s no wonder. The GT was but a jobber heel. He wore a onesy uniform that pretty much hid him from head to toe, including a hood, all in a bright yellow. Even as a young child I wondered if the purpose of his costume was to cover him up so he could also wrestle under another name, in different costume.
The GT would usually have a brief moment in his matches where he would cheat, gain the upper hand and look like he might win. I never remember seeing him win a televised match.
Then there was the night the GT was part of a card appearing at Rising Sun High School. The Golden Terror was matched against David Sammartino, an immensely talented young wrestler who was in top physical condition with both his body and his face, oblong with a long chin that looked somewhat like home plate looking like a younger version of his father.
It just so happened that while Sammartino dominated their match, the Golden Terror pulled off some kind of a cheat at the end and incensed the crowd by getting the win.
I knew the GT was going to have to walk past my seat in the bleachers and I sat in the stands with my arm down low (so as to be able to reach out and club him one as he walked by). Somehow one of the officials with the wrestling company spotted my doubled up fists and grabbed my arm to keep his 240 pound wrestler safe from a blow from my tooth-pick 12-year old arms...I gained a small amount of fame in the school that lasted at least 12 minutes before someone pointed out what would have happened to me if I had the audacity (or balls) to attack the Golden Terror. Even the worst wrestler I ever saw left an imprint on me.
Oh. And for those who would like to know what my true intent was had I not been restrained when GT walked by me... I don’t know. I doubt I would have tried to hit him... maybe if I had a folding chair...

It’s either what we’re hoping for, which is an horrendous team slump, or this roster has indeed aged poorly and is now beyond its window to win. The first indication of aging poorly is of course veteran players who are no longer on the incline, with a secondary symptom of young players that are not maturing into their jobs soon enough to help...

And so cheesy it made the WWF look highbrow Here's hoping today's game doesn't turn into another wrestling thread.

I know the Mexicans like the mammaries big and the cleavage cut down to “there”. Even the news reminds a bit of the old “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In”, with guys in sombreros interjecting humor and a good cleavage close up here and there. Mexican TV is fun. News Director: “Throw a bucket of ice water on that weather girl right... not yet... now! Close up!

Common sense would have been to just start King, but I don't know why this was so difficult for Nelson. He was only going to pitch two innings, tops, maybe three if he was dominate. Seize the opportunity in font of you instead of stinking up the joint and making excuses.

I have to temper my negativity by telling myself it is early in the season. We had 4 starters yesterday that are not hitting .200, and perhaps worse than that their at bats seem to be strikeouts or they fail to advance runners(when there are runners on base). Sometimes lousy hitting can be offset by good defense but we are not getting that either. I realize Wade is not great but in what world does Odor deserve to start over him? I won't go on about the lack of production from Stanton, Hicks, Frazier, Bruce, etc. but sometime that has to change if we are going to compete for anything. Maybe today.
