I don’t want to spoil the love fest with Bench, I like him, too. But some trivia that coukd have gone to the BS thread. Roy Campenella led the NL in CS % In each of his first 5 seasons. Since his career was delayed until his 26 year old season due to the color line, it makes you wonder how much more he might have re-written the record book. Now back to out scheduled coverage of Johnny Bench and his giant fingers... True, but Campy was really helped by his home ball park offensively. His home and away splits are telling. By the way, as a kid, I hated Bench, especially following the 1976 World Series shut out. Thurman was always considered on a second tier to Bench, and I thought Munson took second tier to no one. |

They're saying a couple of days for Sanchez to recover. But they can't go without a backup catcher. So does that mean IL for him?

They might wait until tomorrow morning to see what the swelling and stiffness is like before making a call. I would pull up the catcher at the alternate site and DFA Bruce. |
