Little surprise that Kluber’s best start of the season was with Higashioka behind the plate. Higgy is quicker with better fundamentals, and he calls a better game in my opinion. The difference between pitching success and failure is quite small, and the fact that someone like Garrit Cole, who has more margin for error than most, quickly identified Higashioka as his preferred battery mate in his first (and abbreviated) season in Pinstripes last year is difficult to ignore. And, in limited appearances, Higgy is out performing Sandwich at the plate. Now, it’s time for Boone to start platooning in centerfield with Gardner, who offers more from the left side than Hicks. As for Frazier, now that Tauchman is gone, Boone might as well pencil him in everyday batting ninth and let him grow and hopefully the bat speed and talent rises to the surface. Two words. Jasson Dominguez...

Two words. Jasson Dominguez... Waaaaaay too early to think about Dominguez. I don’t know about that. They indicate his incredible strength and maturity. Robin Yount and A-Rod were able to survive MLB rigors, and guys like Winfield and Bob Horner, though older came up without minor league play. He could be another burgeoning Soto. The Yankees always wait until these kids are damn near past their prime to give them a chance. Unleash the MONSTER!!

Bob Horner never played in the minors. It can be done. And this kid has his man strength already, not like skinny Robin Yount or A-Rod at 18... Bet he can hit .150 like Frazier, and maybe run into a fastball once a week...

You don’t potentially ruin the kids development and start his clock prematurely for a short term fix. He needs to be handled properly.
