So cool. Why am I not surprised? We lived quite a few years in the Middle East, and we took full advantage. Egypt is an unbelievable place to visit, but a lot of travelers don't bother with Alexandria. It's beautiful. We took a drive out to the El Alamein battlefield. Didn't see a single other visitor. The greatest vacations for me are to deserted places. I went to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison at the south entrance. Crowds sharing the views, people dropping their soda cans, kids screaming. Now, I’ve been to the north entrance twice. Much more remote. Happened to bump into Joe Cocker once. He and I were the only two people anywhere to be found. Next time there were only two other cars, and we all honored each other by going to different overlooks. I’ve been to the highly promoted south rim of the Grand Canyon, but when I finally get to take Ruthie I’m to the north rim, where only 10% of the visitors go. If I’m going to get eaten by a bear or struck by a rattler, I want my privacy...Plus, no money pit gift shop...

Nice job Clint with the diving catch. Nicely done Fraizer! Gold glove Clint has re-emerged. I was concerned about his fielding earlier this year...

That was almost another out on the base paths and the 8 era guy is out giving up 0 runs to this point.

Even though the south rim view of the GC is the money shot, the north rim as you say is much less crowded. But even on the south rim, if you walk a few minutes below the rim you eliminate 99 percent of the tourists. And if you go to Phantom Ranch, you eliminate 99.9 percent of them. The slightest exertion will separate you from the pack. Most people are extremely lazy and uninterested.

Nothing in Gardnerism is luck. His goal was not to steal the base, but to cause the distraction leading to the base on balls...

Stanton hitting the ball really well recently. Did Gardner have a shot to go home if he paid attention to the bobble?

The slightest exertion will separate you from the pack. Most people are extremely lazy and uninterested. We were headed to Colorado Springs afterward and followed near-deserted route 160 through the painted desert. There are plenty of deserted overlooks as you move east for hundreds of miles. It books like a lost world with the odd colors, painted cliffs, not a tree to be seen for hours. As often is the case, the journey can exceed the destination...
