It is funny because I originally wrote a longer post explaining that I don’t always believe those numbers, but it got erased and I rewrote a shorter, lazier version. I see him playing good d right now, Bob. I’d consider signing him on a cheap one year deal… maybe changing positions, maybe not. I did not write that post about DP speed you refer to, but was impressed by it… I'm not now, and never have been, concerned with any player's contract. As I've said many times, IMO 3B would be Gleyber's best position. That option with the Yanks probably isn't open now with the acquisition of Chisholm, who's looked very good there, and will get even better with more time at the position. And the Yanks have cheaper options to fill 2B. Let another player become the "fans" whipping boy...which will inevitably be the case. I'd much rather see Gleyber thrive elsewhere. I don’t think Chisholm would be upset if they moved him to second, or any position they had a need…

BTW, I saw where a writer I won’t name stated that the Yanks had picked up some “clown” that dresses like a 14 year old and stuck him at 3B as if he’d be a solution there… the clown came from Miami. We need more clowns….

Move Chisholm to 2B, Gleyber to 3B...or keep Chisholm at 3B, jettison Gleyber and turn 2B over to...who?

If I can’t sign him, I’d go within Caleb Durbin at second and Chisholm at third… I realize Gleyber may find a better deal. If he stays, I’d want him to know he’s going to get moved to “mostly” third. Durbin is a primary 2B that is also now roving in MiLB…

He shouldn't be in the minors anymore.

He shouldn't be in the minors anymore. But… but… but… Verdugo hit a single today. He’s waking up!… I agree, get the kid up here…

He shouldn't be in the minors anymore. He has no lane.

tick tock tick tock ...
have to think dominguez gets called up sept 1. but he has to play so not sure where that leaves verdugo. and platooning doesn't necessarily work because small sample size, dominguez' splits against LH pitching aren't very good.
overall liking what i see. durbin & rumfield continue to hit. jones having a great august. hopefully next season we get closer to having a more homegrown lineup.

Spencer Jones with 5 hits in the last two games. Drives me crazy. Sky’s the limit they say. Next day he has to dig to get to a deeper floor…

Indigo Diaz and Ocean Gabonia pitching in the same game is sensory overload. I’m trying imagine what it would be like bring named Ocean in high school. I have no idea what that would be like, but it would be cool if the team names were the Tides… “Hey Ocean, ya’ having fish for dinner again?”…
