Stop spoiling the mood inger!
We're ignoring your bumps for a reason! LOL.
That’s what I figured. But you know I’m a realist. I saw what I saw. Those pitches were moooooooving a lot. Whatever it was it was fun and entertaining. I started thinking no-hitter in the the third inning because the Rangers were swinging at balls they had no chance of squaring and even some they couldn’t reach. A celebration of human saliva is still a celebration!... Saliva may help a pitch move, but it doesn’t allow painting on both side of the plate, which Kluber was doing.

By the way, some good interviews on yesnetwork.com. Higgy said he was hyperventilating from nervousness tonight late in the game.

Well I picked a great day to be on the road and miss this. I was "otherwise engaged" last night but did keep checking in on Game Day so I knew what was happening. I looked in here too when I could, so thanks for keeping the excitement going.
I love that Gooden had a May 14 no-hitter, Wells May 17 and now Kluber May 19.
Lots of car time today slogging from eastern WV to Lexington in Bluegrass Country so I will miss most of the afternoon game. But if my absence means more no-hitters and Tyler Wade heroics, it's a small price to pay.
Time to hit the road, catch up with you guys later.

Been there, done that...

Ignoring my bumps. Imagine that. Did they ignore Dolly Parton’s bumps? Ann-Margret’s? Damn. Those are getting be some old bumps right there. I need some more modern bump examples so these kids will know what I’m talking about...

LOL, my only regrets about last night were that you weren't with us and that rizzuto's stream crapped out on him. Have a good trip!

We know that you are keeping the world safe for democracy. I was intrigued about the May no hitter string as well. Safe journey, my friend.

If the pitcher is adding saliva to the ball and he has bad breath, is that what they call having some stink on the ball? ...

Kluber may or may not have thrown a no-spitter... 😂
Okay, I’m finished now... unless something else comes to mind...

There were 5 no-hitters tossed in 1968, the year of the pitcher. The thing about the names on this years list is, you probably didn’t expect any of them to have a no-hitter. Kluber before his injuries, yes, but not now, while basically still recovering. ‘68 had some surprises, too.

If Eric Milton, Derek Lowe, and Kevin Millwood can throw no hitters, Kluber certainly can. Joe Torre had to remove David Cone during a no hitter, immediately after coming off the DL following his aneurysm. A lot of things have to go right for a no-no, like a couple short hops right into gloves and a couple missed locations that wound up getting the out anyway. Kluber isn’t a thrower, like AJ Burnett or Clay Buchholz. He’s a cerebral pitcher and had a cerebral catcher calling the sequences, and they were in rhythm all night. It was a special performance, but it’s more in line with Mark Buehrle’s no hitters than Randy Johnson. And, Kluber’s ceiling is higher than Buehrle’s ever was.

The first was the one by Tom Phoebus. I’ve seldom seen anything close to this one. The David Wells perfect game was the closest I can compare. The movement, the spotting of pitches. The way the hitters got worked. It was all so well played...

I would guess his fastest pitch that day was about where Kluber's was. Just like Bunning was the first pitcher to win at least 100 games in each league since Cy Young, I believe he was the first to throw a no-hitter in each league since Young. Milt Pappas came within one NL victory of becoming the third pitcher to win 100 in each league. Not much remembered today except maybe as the guy the Reds got in return for Frank Robinson, obviously a terrible trade for the Reds. But Pappas was a very solid pitcher for years, maybe a Buehrle comp? He was the first pitcher to ever win 200 games without having ever had a 20-win season. Hah, I remember that Phoebus no-hitter as well. It was the spring of 1967. A crazy memory to have.
