YES was just showing some pictures of Ty Cobb but they skipped this one. That is a great picture. That would get you a nice suspension today, but it was how the game was played. I knew a few people who saw Ty Cobb play. They weren't fans of his, but acknowledged that he was electrifying to watch. I am not getting the YES broadcast, but I assume they showed the famous picture of him sliding into third against the Highlanders with Jimmy Austin taking the throw. One of the great sports photos ever. Attachments:

It's not the game way the game is played now... but it should be!!! I have to admit I would love to see a deadball era game. It was a rougher time with more pugnacious play.

I still think one of the biggest issues is DJ is not hitting like the player he was the last two seasons. For sure. Pulling it more, less power, chasing more pitches. He doesn't resemble what he was in 19-20. I think that when we see him pulling the ball more, we have to realize that he’s seldom been up with a runner on first base. He was shooting for the hole the first baseman was giving him last year. That hole isn’t there. I think it’s got him out of sorts in general...

That's the one Chi. Given the limits of photographic equipment at that time, that cameramen must have been sprawled on the ground near the coach's box to get that shot.

A few weeks in Scranton might help Frazier concentrate his mind.

A few weeks in Scranton might help Frazier concentrate his mind. That legendary quick bat not much good if you can't make solid contact. Might play in whiffle ball. Here, not so much.

One hit in five innings. At least they are limiting damage to their RISP numbers.

A few weeks in Scranton might help Frazier concentrate his mind. True. But he got the first two strikes called on him by the ump in that at bat. Turn bill never threw a strike and fanned him on four pitches...
