What annoys me with this team is all these rest days and stuff like you started two AAA pitchers this weekend and expected results at the same time sitting Stanton and Urshela in one game.

The rest days are beyond sensible to me. It’s seldom that a “resting” player is even effectively utilized in a pinch hitting role. When teams had six man benches we didn’t see these rest days... Now, with just three guys on the bench, it’s crazy...The bench guys might be more tired than the starters... |

I know Gittens has missed some games recently because his wife/girlfriend had a baby, so he might be a little rusty, but there is no way could he produce worse than what we've seen from Mike Ford. Sometimes I question the Yankees decision makers ability to evaluate talent.

I was guilty of hoping that an outfield of Gardner, Frazier, Judge and Hicks would be "okay" this season. Boy was I wrong. Hope is not a good strategy. The expiration date on that bunch, except for Judge, has apparently run out. We need hitting and while I don't know if Gittens can prosper at the major league level from what I read he is a good fielder. If he can hit above .150 he'll be an improvement over Ford.

I just returned to Dallas from driving my niece to Louisiana to visit her parents. To answer your question, I have no idea. Rarely do I have a definitive assessment afterwards. Nothing drastic happened. I never dropped my trousers and made no remarks about his wife or mother. He was a difficult guy to read, and there were lots of things going on. My understanding is that references will be checked this week, and I’m definitely in the final two. So, Inger if you receive a call, keep it clean. Thanks for asking Kaybli. I’ve been reading the game threads, and not exactly disappointed that I’m missing these games lately. |
