I didn’t get to see him pitch today, but it looked like German was getting beaten on the fastball. Was his command of the strike zone off? He wasn't pitching too bad till the 5th where he totally lost command of the fastball. |

Yankees will be 4 behind both the Red Sox and Rays if both lose today so they've made up 5 games in a pretty short time.

Through four, he seemed strong, just missed location on a couple pitches. Maybe got away booth a couple more, but you expect that. I went to sleep in the fifth and woke up to the disaster… so I I don’t know what happened at that point… * Edit: I should add that his breaking stuff looked really good to me at the point where I went to sleep… That’s good news about the curveball, because of the spin rate/spider tack conspiracy. Some were saying that he hasn’t had a good outing since the league stated they were going to begin checks and enforcement. I thought it was probably more coincidental. Cole didn’t seem negatively affected in his last start either. |

Just play Andujar at first, DJ at second, Clint in LF until Voit comes back.

On the bright side, it allowed him to be tidier with his pitch count. Now this is coming from someone that missed most of the game… |
