Well they probably won't be mathematically eliminated by the deadline...

I look forward to seeing lots of inaction by the Yankees in the trade market per usual.

I look forward to seeing lots of inaction by the Yankees in the trade market per usual. Well if they turn it around even a little I can totally see Cashman going "see the team is fine we don't need any trades." I can see that happening too, because they can easily win most of the series before the ASB then if i they have a few good games vs Boston after the ASB they could be about caught up to them similar to how they were on Friday only 3 back so I feel like he's going to just use any progress as a non trade excuse. I would be done with the whole Andujar/Frazier/Gardner thing though and try to address some kind of upgrade there.

They've got $3 million to play with, so they're gonna half-ass the deadline like usual. There is a certain part of thinking that hey, this group needs to get it together, which is 100% accurate. But we need two LHHs, and probably a SPer - you can't expect this team to win a WS with Cole and 4-5 unknowns from a reliability standpoint. Not to mention who knows if Kluber and Sevy come back. Lot of questions for a $200 million payroll.
I wonder if a guy like Gregory Polanco fits the LHH need, he's decent against RHP, PITT likely wants to move him and will eat his salary. Not an ideal acquisition as he's stunk the last few years, but something I can see Cashman doing as an option off the bench.

And then we also have the “problem” of what to do with the extra pitchers we might pick up if Kluber and Sevy come back healthy… I agree, we’ll probably nab a low impact guy or two, maybe dump a guy or two to make room and let it go at that…Get ready to say hello to Polanco, or Corey Dickerson… Be ready to hear how we wanted Starling Marte but the ask was insane so we had to walk away…

If all Gallo provided was his bat, I wouldn’t like the idea. But, he’s a decent fielder who has a strong throwing arm. And he’s also on base a ton. If I had my druthers I see us nab a guy like Cedric Mullins for CF, but right and left manned by Gallo and Judge is an attractive scenario. We still need to address CF, though. Judge nor Gallo are the answer there…

Kind of meh. He's another low average, high power guy. But he does play good defense and is a lefty. Depends on the package we send for him.
