Let’s see. We need three starting pitchers, three relief pitchers, a shortstop, three outfielders and replacement DH for Stanton if we can pay someone to take him while we pay him… should be easy, right? …

I feel like the Yankees have to basically do something now with Andujar and Frazier seeming like no sign of return anytime soon. Some of these AAA guys look ok in small sample sizes, but they prob need a real LF to play the bulk of the rest of the season. Wildcard is still right there and as I've said before I dunno why a lot of people down the wildcard so much when teams have still made the World Series from it.

Unfortunately I am resigned to the fact that we are stuck with Stanton and his many empty at bats for many years to come. I'm not opposed to making trades but I am more interested in trades that will improve us in the future. I wish I could share Anthony's optimism but I just don't see us winning anything this year.

The Yankees need a LF AND a CF, unless Stanton can start playing LF, then they can find a DH or maybe Voit comes back. Right now they guys they're running out there aren't good enough.

We’ve already seen that Stanton’s offensive game is beginning to fail due to his inactivity the past few seasons. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we find him to be less than serviceable in left field for said inactivity. He sure doesn’t run the bases like he used to…

I'm not opposed to making trades but I am more interested in trades that will improve us in the future. I wish I could share Anthony's optimism but I just don't see us winning anything this year. The division I agree it's hard to see that happening because even if they win these next two they leave the weekend gaining nothing and losing nothing which means 6 out in loss. With now 7 less games to play then before. I also only think they have any kind of shot if they cant get real outfielders in the positions they are lacking. If they have to use AAA guys as 2/3 of their OF for the rest of the season I just don't think long term that's going to lead to success. I also don't buy that the Mariners will be able to keep up this pace with a -50 run differential. The Blue Jays while talented seem to be super hot and super cold cause their pitching lacks. Cleveland is a mess. Detroit has almost caught the Angels in the standings. So I feel the Yankees are probably the A's biggest competition for that second wildcard. They also own tiebreakers over the Mariners Indians A's at this point and are 500 vs Toronto and can still win that one. The schedule also favors the Yankees here because they play over 600 baseball against teams that are not the Red Sox or the Rays and they only have 6 games left after this weekend with both those teams each. So they def have the schedule to rack up some wins here. Other than three games in the middle of august vs the Red Sox they don't see either team that month. They really need to take advantage of that. 17 of their losses are against the Red Sox and Rays that is almost 40% of their losses against two teams!!

One other thing...
Tampa keeps staying close to the Red Sox and could possibly pass them. If you are the Yankees that probably bodes better for the Yankees because if the Yankees won the 2wc they probably have a better chance of 1 game vs the Red Sox than trying to win an entire series vs them. Same thing if they faced the Rays in that same game. That would prob be ideal for the Yankees because they wouldn't have to face both in full series.

Might as well use the bathroom window… 😂

Here's the real Passan. The Padres grab another great player, I'm not sure why the Pirates exist anymore.

He was owed about $2 million the rest of the year, too rich for Hal and Cashman. Cashman wants to protect the farm system, while annually refusing to play prospects in the meantime, quite the combo.

Yanks didn’t want Frazier for the same reason they won’t play Park. No need at the position. The real problem is they don’t know what they need right now.
Is DJ the long term 2B of 1B? Is Torres a SS or going back to 2nd? Can the DH ever hit consistently again? The Catcher? Who’s the CF? Do we all have COVID? Or just some of us? Who can get outs late in the ball game?…
