I bet if Gardner swung with both hands on the bat and not at balls in the dirt, he'd get that average over .200.

I'd like to see a foot race between Gittens, Sanchez and Sal Fasano in his prime. 100 yard dash could provide hours of entertainment.

Baseball Savant has a feature where you select two players and based on their sprint speed data you can run a race between them. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. Maybe it will work for you?

A strong performance by Taillon seems to be going to waste. What else is new?

Taillon goes 7 with 1 earned run. You can't ask for more than that.

A strong performance by Taillon seems to be going to waste. What else is new? His turnaround the past month has been one of the best stories of this season since the Yanks have him next year too. He was great today.

Always liked Eovaldi and didn’t enjoy seeing him go to the Red Sox. With the Yankees, he nibbled too much and he didn’t have the splitter that he does now. He was still a thrower then, but he’s looking like a pitcher now.

Double for Florial! I like this guy! Please play him over Gardner.

The Yankees need to keep playing Florial. Yeah, he's making mistakes but the talent is there and he has a future.

Let's see what we can do with no outs and a runner in scoring position.

Might have been a good place to pinch hit Sanchez.

There's a good interview with Eovaldi out there on the internet, where the Red Sox deserve some of the credit for his development but he also mastered one pitch while with the Marlins and another while with the Yankees. He credits all three organizations for his long term development and he's clearly now a much better pitcher than when he first came up. Boston is reaping the awards because they were patient with him.

Might have been a good place to pinch hit Sanchez. He can't catch right now, so they are stuck with Brantly.
