With the lefty Martin Perez starting, the lineup Boone employs should be interesting. This may be a battle of the bullpens, as the likelihood is neither Perez nor German make it past four innings.
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 1B 2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH 3. Rougned Odor (L) 2B 4. Gary Sanchez (R) C 5. Gleyber Torres (R) SS 6. Brett Gardner (L) CF 7. Gio Urshela (R) 3B 8. Ryan LaMarre (R) LF 9. Greg Allen (S) RF

I'd keep Florial in CF, Allen in RF and probably put LaMarre in LF, although Boone had mentioned that Stanton could be in LF today. That would free up the DH spot for Sanchez if his back isn't right enough to catch.

Forget Stanton in LF at least for today.

The roster is so thin and with Sanchez able to catch, I can't think of anyone else to put at DH than Stanton. All the OF's available are better defenders than Stanton.

Florial back to the bench just shows that this organization just doesn't get it.

Florial back to the bench just shows that this organization just doesn't get it. Isn’t it amazing that the oldest player on the team never needs rest?

Boone said that he had noticed that when he mentioned Stanton playing left field, Stanton began to develop a small crack a cross his back. He was afraid that if he put him out there he would shatter, so he called that off for the day…
I’m not anxious to see him out there. We don’t even ask him to run full speed to first any more. “Giani, if the ball is hit anywhere between you and Gardner, simply call out “yours”, and don’t try for it”… “If it gets past you, stay out of the way while Brett fetches it”…
