We salvage a run on the DJ sac. Boy Gio is slow. He’s quick, not fast. I know all about that, unfortunately. At forty yards, I was ahead of all but a couple little guys. At sixty yards, everyone seemed to speed up. At a hundred yards, I was behind some guys by twenty yards. You were one of those 50-yard dash guys. It takes a variety to make a track team.

I think I could have been faster if there was a ball involved. Or, a hand gun.

I thought maybe Drew Rasmussen was related to either Dennis or Harry aka Eric Rasmussen, pitchers from the 70s/80s some of you might recall. He isn't.
Dennis Rasmussen went 18-6 for the Yankees in 1986, easily his high-water mark for them.
Eric Rasmussen was called Harry his first few years, then apparently decided Eric gave him more gravitas.

Any here ever thought about changing their name? If my father had gotten his wish, I would have been named either Victor, Dominic, Vincent, or Salvatore. Talk about an Italian stereotype: Vic, Dom, Vinny, or Sal.

Talk about an Italian stereotype: Vic, Dom, Vinny, or Sal. I love Italian names. Very musical. We have a friend named Luigi Buongiorno, such a lyrical sound. I never thought of changing my name, especially since it was also the name of my father and grandfather. Years ago when our friends were having children, I used to ask them to consider naming one them Thelonious if it was a boy. In honor of my favorite jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, of course. Nobody took me up on the suggestion. Usually they would tell me to have my own kid and stick him with that name.
