I guess Voit wasn't ready for today though with the NL pitcher batting garbage and he doesn't play third no way to avoid Wade with Urshela out.

I guess Voit wasn't ready for today though with the NL pitcher batting garbage and he doesn't play third no way to avoid Wade with Urshela out. If they wanted Gallo could play third and Allen in the OF. But Gallo hasn't played there since 2017. |

That could be something down the road, but prob not something for his first game here they would do. |

Stanton, Gallo and Judge are a combined 19 feet 6 inches. Thats one big outfield.

They trust Judge more in CF than Gallo? Judge is probably much more comfortable in centerfield than Gallo, who has played the position once this season and none last season. Remember, Judge played a lot of centerfield in college. This configuration has more to do with Stanton in the field. |

I expected Voit to play a few minor league games again before returning? I'd expect them to allow Voit a very leisurely return since now his role is backup first baseman and part-time DH. Assuming they go with a four-man bench, when he does return it will be very non-versatile-- Voit, Higgy and Odor have only ever played one position, and then the Eternal Gardner in the OF. Yeah, I know Voit played one inning in RF a few years ago. |
