5 games behind Red Sox in loss Winning the WC is a lot more realistic. We would have pass tampa for the division as well. With no pitching upgrade that is not likely. Tampa is the division leader |

One thing about baseball is that unlikely things happen every single year. Five games is not a monumental task. The only thing that matters is the standings at the end. Yep. It would be nice to be in first place today. And it is meaningful. But this games is much more about a bunch of smaller streaks that make up the whole. It’s the second greatest game ever invented in my mind. Only golf is a more interesting creation. That has to do with golf being a game anyone can play at any age by simply playing a different set of tees.
Make no assumptions at this point. We are closer than we deserve to be. At this point, that’s all we need…

But things seem to be looking up! This is usually the time when someone goes down with a serious injury or we lose a heartbreaking game. Hope that doesn't happen again.

Well, looks like the new blood is REALLY helping us out. I give props to management for doing something as it looked like an ugly situation (a bit similar to the Red Sucks last year.) Hopefully the turn around is now and the new guys catalyze the rest of the team to up their game. For sure we can make up the 5 games but pitching needs to get better and of course we need to keep scoring runs, and then some. |
