DJ's back but apparently not well enough to play third. Who knew Odor could play the hot corner?
Also, Stanton playing RF with Judge at DH!

Just rolling in from a sojourn at the beach to wish you a Happy Birthday, Kaybli. You share it with Kristaps Porzingis, James Baldwin, Peter O'Toole, Mary-Louise Parker, Shimon Peres, Myrna Loy and many other notables. But the most important is Bill Scott. Bill was a Philly boy who was the voice of Bullwinkle, Mr. Peabody and Dudley Do-Right. Before your time, but believe me an illustrious co-birthdayist. Hope you have a fun celebration and as Rizz suggested, be sure to fill us in on each course. No pasta left behind.

When Odor played there a few nights ago, it was his first time ever. Guess Boonie thinks that's plenty of experience. I hope against this chump Baltimore squad Heaney can at least give us 6 IP and hold them to 3 runs.

The Yankees have won five of their last six while scoring a scant 17 runs (13 earned runs) over those six games. They haven't topped four runs in ten consecutive games.
For the year, the Yankees have scored 425 runs and also allowed 425 runs. They are 25th in runs scored in all of MLB. They are ninth in OBP at .323 -- better than Boston's .320, yet Boston has scored 105 more runs!! What does that tell you about their situational hitting?
Numbers like that make me re-calibrate the emphasis on OBP. Obviously a high OBP is a good thing, but as long as the main object of the game is to score more runs than your opponent rather than to simply put more runners on base, maybe those obsolete stats like BA and RBIs aren't so laughable.

Quite a distinguished list of people who were born today, thanks for sharing that with me! Hope you had fun at the beach. I will share what I ordered. I'm afraid it won't be too exciting this time, probably just some mussels, a salad, some baked ziti and Veal Francese.

If that’s a ball all night, we’re going to see a lot of walks…
