I thought there was a lot to like about last nights game, except for the relief pitching. I have slammed Wade for a while now but he has stepped up recently and become a plus contributor at the plate, Gardner as well. Our strikeout rate was much lower and our hitting with RISP was much better. Of course we have seen that can change in a day but at least last night it went well. Keep winning series!
After watching that replay, Perez is correct. Judge floated back toward third during the pitch, rather than maintaining or increasing his secondary lead. As the Yankees lead the league in outs at home and outs on the bases, Judge’s response is disappointing.
It is not just the right of the person who speaks to be heard. It is the right of everyone in an audience to listen. Every time we silence someone, we make ourselves a prisoner of our own action, in that we deny ourselves the right to hear.
Freedom of speech is meaningless, unless it protects the freedom of the person who thinks differently.

It became strangely riveting, like a movie about a creature from a black lagoon that wouldn’t die. By the time the bottom of the eleventh came about, it seemed to be oddly important that we win, but the outcome was still in doubt until the last out was squeezed…
