Davis has been smooth and reliable in the outfield. There’s been no sign of a bat whatsoever. Last night he made a couple of outfield catches look routine, simply by getting good jumps and taking perfect routes. Not so much at the plate…

Remember how exciting Yankees were to watch when they brought up Florial and Allen? Cashman seems to prefer the scrub Davis for some reason. It’s baffling. Listening to a podcast with Jeff Nelson, and he was as perplexed and disgruntled about the move as any of us. Rizzuto I agree with you 100% but I guess Boone and Cashman don't share in our excitement. Stolen bases, taking the extra base, what novel ideas. I didn't like the Gallo deal when we made it. I hope Gallo proves me wrong but right now he is a black hole at the plate. I know we had a small sample size in Florial but I sure would have like to see him continue to play at the major league level. Same with Allen.

If we were losing right now, Davis might have already been jettisoned. Winning hides all sins. If we drop a few and Davis continues to hit tappers back to the pitcher, then I would expect we would see him play himself off the stage. By the way, he’s a homely little fart too. Reminds me of Otis Nixon, who reminds me of Freddy Krueger. At some point soon, we’re going to get to Kevin Bacon…

They had some old furniture and boxes of old games, dishes, etc. None of them even looked like Anthony Davis to me. We didn’t take anything off their hands. Sometimes you just have to say no. But Davis is a situation where if you do t use him, you lose him. We’d have to DFA him. Allen had the unfortunate circumstance of having options. I’d rejoice if we could see Davis have just one good offensive performance. I’m not holding my breath…

Poor reason to send a player down who is performing on the field and at the plate.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think Soto is a teeny bit better than Greg Allen. so the comparison might be a wee bit unfair… By the way, Soto has dropped off a bit this year, but I’m thinking it might be because no one has thrown him a strike all season…

To wit: Jonathan Davis: OPS .453 OPS+ 29 Greg Allen: OPS .849 OPS+ 137 Juan Soto: OPS .925 OPS+ 158
