Heaney as Yankee 15 IP 15 H 15 R Also Yankees left 7 on base and we're only 1 for 7 with RISP And, like half of those hits have been home runs. Severino cannot get here soon enough. Gil has acquitted himself much better than Heaney thus far. I could see Heaney being effective out of the pen for an inning.

I still the the whole thing was a big flop. The park is built to be assaulted by HR hitters and for 9-8 games. No even the original park from the movie. Yawn-fest with the exception of when I thought we had turned it around in the ninth… Of course Fox made it so much better with their piercing interviews. “Oh, wait a minute. That was a strike. Go ahead and talk about this experience with your very normal children again”…

Well, I have to give the team credit overall. They are playing hard and they turned things around. But I have to question the late game blown saves and that isn't directly on the pitchers. I really would prefer another manager.

A guy like Heaney would be prone to blowing multi-run leads. You could never bring him in in relief with men on base for fear he'd give up a multi-run dinger or a rifle shot to the corner. I think he plays better as a pitcher on someone else's team. Guy has been a disaster.

Guy has been a disaster. He’d do well pitching in a tee-ball league… “Now Jimmy, this time don’t swing until I get the ball on the tee and step away” (THWACK)! “Again?!??! You little bastard! Come get yer kid lady”! …

And Gardner continues to creep upward. Around .210 or so. Seemed unlikely a few weeks ago… Gardner has hovered around .200 all season, going above it and dipping below it. His highest point outside of the beginning of the year was .222 on June 12, and the nadir was .171 on May 16. It's hasn't helped that he's played way too much this season, lately because Cashman has saddled the roster with Davis, who can't hit at all.

Guy has been a disaster. Starters’ stuff normally plays up in the bullpen because they add a couple ticks to the fastball, do away with a third pitch or fourth pitch which tends to improve command, and they usually nibble less frequently and become more aggressive because it’s only three outs and not a second or third time through the order. Especially for a fly ball pitcher. Think Phil Hughes the reliever vs Phil Hughes the starter.
