Ugh. Hate TV dinners. Little rubber ball frozen peas. That over powering taste of preservatives. I always imagine some of it hitting the floor and being squeegeed back into a big bubbling vat… Frozen food technology has come a long way in the past 50 years, Inger.

Let it sit out for a while and you could use it as a hockey puck.

I know the level of imitation food of which you speak, for sure. Grisly dark slabs called turkey. Pathetic ersatz mashed potatoes with a disgusting hard lump of synthetic butter. Peas like marbles. And you had to wait 45 minutes for the mess to cook. I loved that garbage in my early teens, although my mother would rarely allow me to eat it. But I could sneak some in on occasions when my parents were away for a few days. Morton Chicken Pot Pie. Illio's pizza. Swanson's Veal Parmagian. And I lived to tell about it.

Do you enjoy those FF dinners, Pipps? Thinking about it, there’s probably a fair amount that is served on the sly at restaurants. Schwan’s actually has a pretty decent frozen chicken pie right now. I think they might have contracted with a company called Blake’s that makes a very similar product…

Of course the broadcasters give the answers to the trivia question before we get a chance to guess. Jeez.

You beat me to the counter-punch by a few seconds, almost like we were both seeing the dangling conversation in need of a final push…

Of course the broadcasters give the answers to the trivia question before we get a chance to guess. Jeez. Trivia has become a thankless task with the ability to hop on Google for answers. Like telling the set up for a joke and your drunken buddy spits out the punch line…
