Now we have to worry about losing this series. Nice game, Boone. You set some guys down, illogically used them as pinch hitters in the 7th, sort of unloading the bench all at once. That culminated in slow moving Voit batting in a DP situation, which led to… WHAT? A double play? Really? You kidding?

Hard to believe they could be this lifeless when they have so much to play for. Luckily for them the A's are in position to lose again.

Lets be real here you throw out that terrible lineup that doesn't help.

After Judge, Stanton and Lemahieu, there isn't any one who hits with men in scoring position. Voit gets hot, Boone benches him. Wade starts hitting, Boone benches him for Odor. Allen plays well, Cashman replaces him with a player who shouldn't be any where near the major leagues. Gallo is terrible, but plays everyday. Gardner is not an everyday player, but he's constantly in the lineup. Urshela can't stay on the field, but when he does, he plays out of position. Torres gets hot and then gets hurt. Rizzo is a good first baseman, but hasn't hit much. Boone is the worst Yankee manager since Stump and Cashman loves players he doesn't have to pay.
Sorry, but this is the most frustrating team I've seen in a while. Yanks have had 9 hits in two games against the worst team in baseball. I expect more from this team.

You just received an amen from me and I suspect many Yankee fans. The most inspiring and exciting baseball this team played was not during its 13 game winning streak. It was when Florial and Allen were called up. For that short period, the Yankees looked like a team that could beat you in multiple ways. Cashman is venerated for signing Clay Holmes but should excoriated daily for the sending down of Florial and Allen, who were playing well and hitting, for Jonathan Davis, then signing another all or nothing offensive player in Gallo.

I don't understand why we field such a terrible offense when we spend this much on it. And why we are the only team in baseball that can not beat Baltimore

When it comes to the closer we could just leave that last word out and just say : that bullpen isn’t super. He’s still very oddly frightful… yet still oddly effective… at times…

The Red Sox are suddenly only 1/2 game behind us. We caught them fast. They might catch us faster…

Playoff implications:
Toronto won 10-8 Seattle won 8-5 A's lost 10-8 Rays won 11-4 Red sox won 4-3
So that puts it at:
Rays 50 losses (7-9 Season series, 3 left) Astros 56 losses * Yankees 57 losses White Sox 57 losses * Red Sox 59 losses + A's 62 losses * Seattle 62 losses * Toronto 62 losses (6-6 season series, 7 left)
*= Yankees have clinched season series vs these teams + = Yankees cannot win season series vs these teams
