lol, you can't even make this stuff up. How, a whole two days in a row. They've had this attitude all season of basically writing off the regular season because the playoffs is where it matters.

The Rays come back and steal one from the Red Sox in a game that lasted around 5 hours.

I thought yhe idea of resting people all year was so they'd be fresh for the stretch run and playoffs. Well, it's almost mid-Septmber so they need to suck it up and play every day if need be. Except Gallo. He needs rest. Lots of rest. Lots and lots of rest.

This is from Joel Sherman's column in todays NY post. I watched this yesterday and every time I hear Boone talk, I feel like one of those passengers who sat next to Ted Striker in "Airplane".
Boone talked about getting “Joey comfortable.” But it has been nearly six weeks now and Gallo was still talking Saturday about things like adjusting to traffic in getting to Yankee Stadium — by the way, most Americans deal with hassles getting to work. Gallo seems to be overthinking and over-complicating himself into problems. He can use a bit of a timeout as the Yanks try to reanimate their overall offense.

I had read or heard that he was having trouble being “one of the guys” vs. being “the guy” in Texas…Have we acquired the hitter’s version of Ed Whitson? Why has he not been a total screwup in left field? …

Boone did not assemble this weak an offense with one of the highest salaries in the majors.
