Gil def needs better control. He only averages 5 innings a start doesn't look like he will go past that today either.

Should have been an inning-ending DP.

Gil gets out of it. Maybe he will never allow a run.
With that pitch count, he may not go past four innings. But he's a cool customer out there. Great job battling back from 3-0 to fan Teoscar.

Love that stat -- Gil's 18 2/3 scoreless innings to start his Yankee career surpasses Slow Joe Doyle's 18 in 1908.

Neither strike three call to Velazquez or Gardner was a strike.

Neither strike three call to Velazquez or Gardner was a strike. Meanwhile, strikes are now balls when Gil is pitching.

That pitch to Lamb was strike three. Now it's Gil's sixth walk.

This team is a train wreck right now, it's going to be a battle to hold on to a wild card spot.

If they don’t kick Gil down to AAA, does anyone believe he would have been overthrowing early in the game? Why does Heaney make more sense to management than Gil? Even when Gil struggles, he doesn’t give up any runs. Why does Odor continue to man third when Wade is much better defensively and was hot as a pepper sprout (Johnny Cash reference) before his categorical benching?

Go to Jackson.
