Even Luetge has lost the leaping luck lately.

If they don’t kick Gil down to AAA, does anyone believe he would have been overthrowing early in the game? Why does Heaney make more sense to management than Gil? Even when Gil struggles, he doesn’t give up any runs. Why does Odor continue to man third when Wade is much better defensively and was hot as a pepper sprout (Johnny Cash reference) before his categorical benching? You certainly won't get any of these answers from anyone at YES. They slobber over everything Cashman does.

Semien makes a monkey of the Yanks knocking in two, but thrown out by Gallo trying to stretch into a double.

Actually my first recollection of Jackson was the Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra version. But I do know the Johnny/June version.

I suppose his longevity is the most impressive.

Go to Jackson. I was born in Jackson. But wasn't there long enough to dance on a pony keg.

Anyone with some pearls of wisdom on baseball or life in general? I’m stuck between Walt Whitman’s entreaty to “habit yourself to the light and of every moment of your life” and wondering if curses are real. Bit of a chasm, I’m aware.

The Yankees aren't doing enough to keep my interest, so I looked up "Jackson." The Cash version was released in February 1967 and went to number two on the country chart. The Lee/Nancy version was released in July 1967 and went to number 14 on the pop/rock chart. At that point, in the waning days of AM radio music dominance, I would have been much more attuned to the rock version.

Ogden Nash handled both baseball and life. His baseball alphabet poem started "A is for Alex, the great Alexander, who pitches more goose eggs than a popular gander." Sorry, best I can do on short notice.

I was reading a few days ago that there are 12 percent more foul balls today than in 2010. I am sure there must be 50 percent more than in the 1970s.
After that AB by Hernandez, I 'm ready for some kind of limit. Maybe three fouls after strike two and it's a K.
