What is everyone's opinion on this? Too little too late? Better late than never? Fun times with everyone playing out of position?

Do we actually have set positions on this team? It’s been like a spinning wheel all season long. And we needed pretend we’re set in the outfield anymore either.
Moving Gleyber will only serve the purpose of allowing him fewer touches on the baseball. I’d be happier to see Gleyber on the bench, stewing over where he’ll probably be playing next year. Rizzo at first, DH at second, Wade at shortstop, Urshela at third. Solid, smart baseball players at their familiar positions.
I don’t mind the shifting outfield assignments too much, though I see Stanton as a DH…

That would probably be wisest in the short term but they're not going to totally give up on Gleyber and relegate him to the bench.

DJ's best position is 2nd base and Geo's is 3rd, so they move these guys around, making the overall defense weaker, just to get Gleyber's bat in the lineup, a bat that's been weak since the start of last season. When you consider who's making these decisions, it actually makes sense.

Sometimes young players hint at greatness and become great. Sometimes they become Ben Grieve. Knowing when to cut bait is an important skill. Having the courage to do it is another. There are many who were given up on that have been scantly heard of because the talent also didn’t play for their second and third chance teams.
I think it was the Giants that had the first shot at Roberto Clemente and passed on him. Rizzuto was too small. Lou Brock wasn’t good enough for the Cubs. The Cardinals overlooked his flaws and made him a Hall of Fame hitter and base stealer.
We either have to overlook Gleyber’s flaws at this point or move on. If the glove were flawed and the bat strong, we likely could. Bat weak and glove strong? Maybe. But then you have the appearance of a lack of baseball instinct, and for me it’s too much. Even if he goes elsewhere and his bat recovers, I’m still going to know he’s mistaken prone beyond what the error count is, beyond what the metrics may say.
Keeping Gleyber in the lineup and on the field right now is madness. We’re hoping for a few weeks of 2019 Gleyber. That player hasn’t been seen in the past 180-190 games. In don’t expect to see him…

Can DJ make the throw from third now?
Wade at second, DJ at third, Valenzuela at SS, Rizzo at first. Sit Torres, Voit, and Urshela (none of the three are playing well in the field or hitting consistently). Torres for a pinch hitter.

I’d do Velazquez at SS willingly, too. I trust Urshela to snap out of his funk, especially in field…

Given that our basic problem is offense I think sitting Voit and Torres is a mistake. I think we will lose more runs than we gain this way.
Maybe they should try Torres at DH. Stanton likes to play the OF and has not been a disaster at it. That I know of anyhow.
