There's bad losses and then there's this.

Shouldn't they have been playing for the double play?

There's bad losses and then there's this. Seems like there's been about 20 like this. Does this look like a World Series team to anyone besides Hal and Cashmnan?

So far on this "soft" 13-game stretch where the Yankees needed to go at least 10-3, they are 4-3.

Inability to put games away all year should be pretty obvious. Who would have ever predicted such an inept offensive unit. I hope they don't double down this winter and expect a bounce back.

Shouldn't they have been playing for the double play? I know they wanted to cut down the runat home, but had Gio been playing back that could have been an inning-ending DP. Of course Torres might have flubbed the relay, and that would have made this loss even worse.

Yankees are basically in the situation now where even if they go like 4-2 or 5-1 in these next 6 Red Sox/Blue Jays really only need to go 2-4 or so to stay within enough distance to pass them in either of those series. So even if the do wind up 10-3 both teams prob will still be in striking distance.

Pipps I get where you are coming from, but no offense I am not a fan of statements like this, because we have seen some terrible teams like the 06 cardinals win the World Series and some amazing teams like the 2011 Phillies not even make the NLCS. So I feel its just get in and hope you play well and get hot when you are in there.

But the way this team has frittered away so many easily winnable games is frustrating in the extreme. Toronto through some Act of God has seven games left with Minnesota and finishes with three against Baltimore. Boston's last six are against the Nats and Mets, plus their next three are against Baltimore. Of course, being essentially tied at this point leaves the Yankees obviously still in the hunt. They are insanely streaky so yes it's still a possibility that they have another run in them. We can hope.

What is concerning is they just went 4-2 in their last 6 names and played bad enough to prob go 0-6 at the same time.

If this team isn’t planning their early off season vacations they should be. I don’t expect to be watching post season baseball this year. Maybe that’ll be a welcome respite… I can enjoy more autumn time outdoors. Almost can’t wait to put my short pants away and grab some flannel shirts out of the back of the closet…

I can't believe we lost. And I am pretty pessimistic.

I can't believe we lost. And I am pretty pessimistic. What do, or I know about anything? How many times have I left this team for dead this year? How many times have you? As a matter of course, probably at least twice as many times as I have. In Strat-O-Matic, baseball is a literal roll of the dice. In actual baseball, it’s a figurative roll. Hot streaks. Cold streaks. Ups and downs. We shall see…
