I don't watch the games much but I wonder how enthusiastic they are. It might be better to bring young players up who will be more enthusiastic. But I don't think ownership is all that concerned.
One thing is certain. This team can't hit their way out of a Gucci bag to steal an old line.

If management just hires someone who thinks like they do and Boone, will it really matter? I am torn on this. I think Cashman was convinced that Girardi was too hard on his players and that was feedback from the veterans on the roster. So they went for the softer, pat em on the back type in Boone. In 2018-19 it looked like it was working, but that could have been just the veteran leadership in the clubhouse holding things together. Once that changed, it's been one regression after another of the roster. So I think Cashman has to really take a deep-dive of the last two years and consider making a change, if he is even back as well. Which leads to that, I think Cashman is self-aware of the current shitshow. He wanted to give it a go to retool the roster post-Jeter/Arod era and found some gems. He almost put it over the top, so close really, leading to two ALCS the last four years, but couldn't get over the hump by a game or two vs HOU. The rebuilding process was correct from 2015 onward, but somewhere along the way here the plan went awry. It seemed like once they got close to the WS they tried outsmarting the room, by playing the luxury tax dance all while being in the midst of a real WS window that wouldn't be easy to knock down given the competition. I could see Cash saying time is up and let someone else do things, maybe he kicks up to some executive position for Hal w/in organization. OTOH part of me also thinks he's determined to get that ring in a post-core four/Arod era and seal his HOF candidacy. It will be a fascinating winter in the Bronx. My bold prediction: Yanks keep Cashman, fire Boone....hire Beltran.

He’s credited with being a very smart baseball man, but maybe he’s too smart…

Some of the players he got like sanchez and beloved short stop had short shop lives. His refusal to trade young players like andujar did not work out - but its just a guess I suppose if they will. Personally I think he is unwilling to trade them because he might look bad if they make it.
I think in general he is cautious looking for a cheap bargain. But this team is a mess and risk have to be taken. I don't think the Yankees are willing to take risks, whether that is Cashman's fault I don't know.
We need to get rid of most of the team and rebuild with younger players.

It worked pretty good for Boston the Marlins in the past and other teams. I think most of the better teams recently did something like this. Even our most recent success came by getting rid of a lot of older players at one time and replacing them with younger ones.

I don't see how Boone can survive. He has made some of the worst managing decisions in history (I think that's defendable, if not totally accurate).
Cashman probably will continue to have his job, although most organizations would make a change. We have an opaque ownership group relating to what is their true goal for the Yankees. If it were putting a winning/highly competitive product on the field, Cashman would be sacked. We will see perhaps a bit more into their goals this winter.
I had to withdraw from caring so much, because of the pain of seeing this edition of bumblers on the field, led by the Master Bumbler in the dugout.
All I have left is hope.
