They could have pulled an usher out of the stands that would have had a better chance to get a hit than Odor… So why is he on one of the highest paying teams in baseball? |

Boone's bullpen management mistakes are just too much to overcome tonight. I can't see how they could bring him back next year. Boone's gotta go. I don't agree with Abreu coming in there either but gotta score those runs way before the 9th inning no one scored from the top 2nd until the top 9th. Ugh now they gotta win tomorrow. Still in the drivers seat though. Hope for Seattle to lose. The more teams at 71 or more losses the better. |

The most they can max out at is 71 losses. Boston and Seattle both already have 70 Toronto already has 71. So they are clear of Toronto with one win or Toronto loss. They clinch at least a tie with Boston or Seattle with one win or a loss by either. They play way before any other team starts tomorrow so gotta set the tone and win, but it Seattle still loses tonight that's one thing in their favor. |

Well tomorrow they should have Severino able to pitch as well as king and green so that hopefully helps. Montgomery has been good hopefully get some runs for him.

So what I said will be true I can't see all 3 teams sweeping their series and the Yankees getting swept. The Rays were basically handing the game to the Yankees tonight and the Yankees didn't take advantage of it I can see them winning tomorrow and the next day. Boston hasn't even named a starter. The orioles have looked better yesterday and Seattle is actually losing right now. |

Anyway if Seattle does lose then its win and in for the Yankees tomorrow. No matter what Seattle and Toronto do the rest of the way.
For home field though they need a either a second win or for Boston to lose one of their final 2 games.

The other thing with the Yankees tonight ZERO walks. When they are successful they walk a lot having none of those hurts bad.

Yankees clinch a playoff spot with WIN
Yankees clinch WC #1 with WIN + BOS LOSS or 2 WINS
The Yankees cannot be eliminated in 162 games.
