As far as the Yankee hair policy, it's their right. By the way, if I was getting paid as much as they are, I'd wear a pink tutu if they told me to. I’d be right there with you in my tutu, Desousa! I also like that the Yankees haven’t changed their jerseys in a century and still use only the numbers on the backs. For a sport that has lost much of its excitement in recent decades, a bit of tradition is rather nice. I just wish they had kept their old stadium and in doing so their old fans. Now, the average fan has been out-priced at the new stadium, with all its unoccupied corporate-designated seats right behind home plate. Plenty of gift shops, though.

I'll join you guys in the ballet line. I like the Yankees' classic appearance, and it’s not as if they look like Marines in basic training. I don't think it's that big of an issue for many players anyway. I love the clean lines of the uniforms and that there are no names on the back. I am not a fan of that day when you put a nickname on the back. Most of them are idiotic or very unimaginative in my view. I was proud of Gardner when he resisted, but when they forced the issue he simply went with Gardner. I probably would have been against putting numbers on the uniforms had I been around back in the late 20s when that started.

Blue Jays BLEW this = Sad, they could have used him for their run for Division Championship???!!!
Judge should tell the Yanks "Beard I Play...no beard no Play" It is time the Yanks stop thinking it is the 1950's and Vault into the today's REALITY!!!
YES, they made a huge mistake--will see during the season.
Did the Yankees Make a Mistake Trading Tyler Wade?
I like the Yanks clean-shaven policy and bent toward professionalism, too. I wouldn’t mind if the team modified it enough to allow a “neatly trimmed” beard, like the one Judge is now sporting. I hope that Aaron does not choose to challenge the Yankees. That doesn’t seem to be his personality. Heck, we don’t even know if Judge even likes himself in a beard, so that article is rather moot at this point. Tyler Wade? I’ll miss him. Always liked him. Thought he should have gotten more opportunity last year. The team will be fine, and Do w should regale that he’ll likely be replaced with YOUTH! The youngsters need to start somewhere to work their way into future full time roles…

Yeah seeing a Players complete face is critical for the Rabid Yankee Fans (giggling)--Going to the WS and winning the WS NOT so much!!! Giggling.
With this signing the White Sox will have Hendricks, Kimbrel & Graveman; we should see if theyu are Interested in Chapman (chances are in 2022 off-season he will be FA and of course we will get ZIP for him...more giggles.
Reliever Kendall Graveman reportedly is signing with White Sox on 3-year deal.
TEQUILA has me in Tears:
First she played off Rizz's Post about the Tradition of Clean Shaved = "Today sadly OUR main tradition is LOSING" AND: "Judge is coming up to bat but the Fans are hooting & hollering for they do not recognize who this player is because of the Beard..."
Shit I am laughing so hard; and then this:
Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Yanks picked up this Wade look a like?
"...Astudillo, 30, made his big league debut with the Twins back in 2018 and has since displayed an uncommon skill set and fairly rare level of defensive versatility.
“La Tortuga” has played every position on the diamond, with the exception of shortstop. Astudillo worked as a catcher and corner infielder with the Phillies in his early days as a prospect and has continued to add more positions to his defensive profile. He’s not considered a plus defender anywhere, but Astudillo embodies the “jack of all trades, master of none” profile quite well.
More interesting is Astudillo’s unorthodox skill set at the plate. As free a swinger as there is in the game, the right-handed-hitting Astudillo also possesses uncanny bat-to-ball skills.
He’s struck out just 25 times in 533 career plate appearances (4.7%), but his frequent hacking has led to an even smaller 1.9% walk rate. Astudillo has a bit of raw power, but he swings so early and so often, with such high contact rates, that he rarely finds himself in position to get a pitch to drive.
Since 2018 (min. 500 plate appearances), Astudillo has the third-highest swing rate (60.1%) of any player in baseball and the second-highest contact rate (91.5%) — trailing only his now-former teammate Luiz Arraez in that regard.
Astudillo was arbitration-eligible and projected by MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz to earn a $1.2MM salary in 2022. Coming off a .236/.259/.375 slash in 216 plate appearances, however, it seems the Twins preferred not to allocate those dollars or a 40-man roster spot to him — particularly with so many prospects needing to be added to the 40-man roster. (Minnesota selected six players Friday.) Astudillo can now sign with any team."
THANKS RIZZ FOR THE GOOD Tradition Clean Shaved LAUGHS!!!
Astudillo has almost nothing in common with Wade. High contact hitter, which Wade will never be. Swings at every pitch, Tyler is a good bit more patient. I wish I knew how they are look alikes. I must be blind to that…

Do the Yankees forbid all facial hair, even mustaches? I seem to remember Gosssge, Lyle, Munson, Tidrow rocking them. When did they implement bare faced only policy.

Mattingly had a mustache, it only became an issue with him when his hair became too long. I'm all for relaxing the facial hair policy to a certain point, I just don't want to see any hillbilly Grizzly Adams on the Yanks that we've seen around the league.

Mustaches are kosher while wearing Pinstripes. Not long ago, Mike Ford had a mustache for a couple weeks, and Jason Giambi sported that porn-stache for awhile, too. Of course, Mattingly had the great mustache for just about his entire career. The Yankees instituted the maximum hair length and no beard policy in 1973. This is the official policy: “All players, coaches and male executives are forbidden to display any facial hair other than mustaches (except for religious reasons), and scalp hair may not be grown below the collar. Long sideburns and “mutton chops” are not specifically banned.” I remember reading that Steinbrenner had to get on Mattingly for his hair length a couple times.

Remember the “supposedly true” story that one opening day, Lou Pinella showed up with long hair. He was called to Steinbrenner’s office, where George directed him to cut his hair. Pinella argued that Jesus had long hair. So, George took him to the gym pool and told Sweet Lou if he would just walk across that water, he could keep his long hair.

MLB insider updates Yankees’ top free agency, trade targets.
"Tequila you hear anything about the Yankees from your Sources?"
"Yes, Do Me, I just heard the Yanks are in Trade Talks with the Angels to get Wade back. They will trade Voit, Torres, Hicks plus $$$ for Wade..."
"Tequila you must stop it. You know my Rule about Fake News. So be serious, what have you heard?"
"Ok, I just heard Ortiz is coming out of retirement and will join the Yanks as DH; PLUS Tampa's Mgr. Mr. Cash, will be joining the Yanks in a Duel Role of Mgr And GM. The Yankees in turn will give Tampa $$$, Boone, Stanton & Sanchez. Apparently Tampa Bay wants to have a losing season to pick-up more Young Draft Picks."
