PART III SIX YEAR PLAN:With a Payroll of $175M or less and go to the WS twice in a Six Year Period?
Yes, this can be achieved, but will need major changes, disruptions, sacrifices, turnover of personnel, etc.
I would not expect us to go to the WS or even the Play-Offs in the first three years; but who knows? Lady Faith might be on our side???‼! Yeah, right…
The salaries I will be using will be from 2021.
Yankees total salaries in 2021 was $203m
The plan’s goal is to field a good team around/under $175m
YES, Tequila I know some if not a lot of Posters will get a good laugh about this Part of the Plan; that is OK, for it is Part of the Six-Year Plan.
Here are our FA’s that I would not re-sign & Players I would cut:--Kubler $11 M (I like him but he will probably cost too much)
--Rizzo $16.5 M
--Britton $13 M
--Gardner $1.8 M (Thanks for the Memories—maybe a Front Office OR Coaches Job???).
--Day $2.45 M
The Plan calls for us to trade the following Players (Trade them mostly for Prospects with a few exceptions):
--Sanchez $6.5 M
--Torres $4.5 M
--Gallo $6.2 M
--Ordor $1.5 M (I think the Rangers paid $10.5 M of $12 M his salary?)
--Hicks $10.5 M
--Warren $500 K
--Frazier $2.1 M
--Romano $570 K
--Davis ($ = ???)
--Kricke ($ =???)
--Chapman $16 M (We think his arm is beyond TIRED; numbers were down in 2021, plus he is a FA in 2023 + Better to get something NOW for him).
***At this point have saved around $95 Million or so off the 2021 Salaries = Now down to $108 M
AND THE PLAN CALLS FOR US ALSO TRY TO TRADE:--Stanton $29 M (Yes, WE know he has a No Trade Clause but we can work with that…). We never really got what we needed from Stanton on a Consistent Basis – plus he is getting older and I cringe whenever when he plays just waiting for a major serious injury. (Do not know if we could find a Team Interested??? But you NEVER KNOW???).
***IF we traded Stanton, we would be down to well under $95 in salaries.
Yes, we know that this salary figure will go up with Abr. And new players; salaries we got in trades.
FA’S WE WOULD ATTEMPT TO SIGN ASAP & TRADES (Yes, there are some exceptions to the age rule):
--
FA Josh Harrison (an exception to the age rule) = 2b, 3b, SS,1B, RF, CF, LF -SB (2021 $1m) Bats R Age 34. Would try at first, a 2-year $4 M/year OR $5 M/year
www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/harrijo05.shtml--
FA Chris Taylor SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF, 2B—SB 13 (2021 $7.8m) Bats R Age 31
www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/tayloch03.shtml Would try at first at 3-4 years at $14 M a year. I watched him played this year; every game a different position = thought I was getting Mushroom Flashbacks -- for no one could play this many positions well.

FA Aaron Loop--10-22-21:
www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/10/previewing-the-2021-22-free-agent-class-left-handed-relief.html Maybe 2-Years at $9 M/year??? Age 34 Lefty.
A longtime member of the Blue Jays’ relief corps, Loup has bounced around the league a bit in journeyman fashion over the past couple seasons.
He’s coming off an utterly dominant showing with the Mets, though, posting a 0.95 ERA over 56 2/3 innings. Loup punched out 26.1% of opposing hitters while walking just 7.3% and racked up grounders on over half the balls in play against him while allowing just six extra-base hits all year.
No one could reasonably expect Loup to continue to be that unhittable. He doesn’t throw hard, and he’s been more consistently good than overpowering throughout his career.
Loup rarely walks batters, though, and he’s always done well to keep the ball in the yard and avoid especially damaging contact.
Going back two seasons, he’s also held right-handed hitters to a .205/.276/.311 line with similarly strong strikeout and walk numbers.
Despite being a low-slot lefty, Loup doesn’t need to only be deployed situationally. He’d be a valuable addition to any bullpen and stands a good chance of landing a multi-year deal this winter.
FA Austin Romine to 1-year Minor League Contract at $1.5M/year.
--
We would TRY to trade for Matt Olson 1B Oakland. 1B, OF, (2021 $5m) Not FA until 2024 Bats L Age 27 39 HRS 111 RBI probably with Abr. = $12 M Year. Maybe for Chapman, plus…???
www.baseball-reference.com/players/o/olsonma02.shtml --
Would TRY a trade for Cubs C/LF Contreras for Sanchez, Devi and maybe, maybe one more player. --10-17-21:
www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/trade-proposal-yankees-cubs-swap-catchers/ar-AAPDm5K?li=BBnbfcL YES we know a FA in 2023. He is at $6.65 with Arb this off-season.
--WE KNOW THE TRADE BELOW WOULD BE HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO HAPPEN; BUT ONE NEVER KNOWS UNLESS THEY ASK:***WE would also inquire with the Angels about Ohtani.
DH/OF/P Bats L, Age 27: 46 HRS; 100 RBI; 26 SB; PLUS he is a Pitcher too. Salary only at $8.85M and FA not until 2024.
Maybe for Judge OR Judge plus _________________________. Judge will be 30 next year is due year for Abr. So, his $10M salary to surge—health concerns??? FA 2023
Reports recently is that Ohtani not happy about direction of angels???
WOULD PU OPTION: Joely Rodríguez (30): The Yankees hold a $3MM club option on Rodríguez for 2022. Picked up from the Rangers at the trade deadline alongside Joey Gallo, Rodríguez pitched well down the stretch. Over 19 frames, he worked to a 2.84 ERA with a strong 50% ground-ball rate. The option looks affordable enough to be picked up.
At this point if WE all the above (Trades & FA's --Not counting Judge Trade) we are around $150M Salaries...
Cannot share all of the Plan—who knows if Yankees are doing Crap again in 2022 then maybe, just maybe…may listen to me???
However, I will share PART IV = The 2022 Line-up Options. But the IMPORTANT STUFF that will really make the difference, I cannot share.
Tequila APPROVES this Six Year Plan (so far…)
