If there is a god, and I suspect it’s possible, then I have doubts that baseball holds any importance to her. I’d just let baseball do the harm to itself and learn it’s lesson. There will always be rocks to hit with sticks and vivid imaginations to spark the urge to have fun… Better to do it ourselves than to sit and watch…

I expect Hal only sees the Yankee as a way to make money. Unlike GS.
The only sport that has lockouts/strikes constantly is base ball. I think part of that is animosity built up in the past which Levine I think said today without saying it. But it is also the model. Things that need to change (but won't).
Baseball being a unified league looking out in part at least for the good of all baseball not individual teams. The NFL realized this in the sixties, baseball never has. It is still a collection of private teams that vote their own interest and care little for baseball.
Players getting an agreed on percentage of revenue and decide amongst themselves how to divvy it up. Free agency is a broken system which teams realize does little to help them win. So they are not going to invest huge sums any more for the most part given the limited gain they get. Whatever players want, they can't force teams to invest when they get nothing for the investment. The era of big spenders is over. So they need a different way to spread income around.
They need to do, as football has done for decades, find a way to make the game more popular. That means giving more teams a decent chance to win, it also means rule changes to assist offense that most Americans want to see. The NFL would have made the shift illegal years ago. Baseball just does not get it.

There is not going to be a season probably. The owners don't really care and the players are delusional. They are not even trying to negotiate.
The solution is for fans to not show up in the future until both sides start valuing them again. But they never do so the madness continues.

Good to hear from him...
How an imperfect 14-team MLB playoff could work for everyone even without 'ghost wins'

I like the ghost wins. Dang it. Even when they get a crappy idea I like, they start to dump on it…

Positive motion breaks the inertia again. I’m thinking it’s over within two weeks… That's what every one said about one of my marriages Brenda and Eddie were still going Steady in the summer of '75 When they decided the marriage would Be at the end of July Everyone said they were crazy Brenda you know you're much too lazy Eddie could never afford to live that Kind of life But there we were wavin' Brenda and Eddie goodbye They got an apartment with deep Pile carpet And a couple of paintings from Sears A big waterbed that they bought With the bread They had saved for a couple Of years They started to fight when the Money got tight And they just didn't count on The tears
